Whats the advantage of having this? Lighter and stronger im guessing so reduces unsprung weight. But what else can it really improve on?

It's all about the "bling" factor. I personally would never install that on my car. I think the stock rear LCA's are strong enough, but hey, i could be wrong.

When you installed the Progress rear sway bar did you see how the OEM bars are designed.... two stamped pieces of sheet metal spot welded in a box shape. Not exactly weight or strength minded!
Oh well I'll let you know if I feel any differences, other than a lightness in the pocket book.

how much do these weigh and the stockers weigh? anyone?

Also available are Performance Rear Arms
to reduce the weight and add performance
looks on 01+ Civics and the RSX.
The control arms for the 01+ Civic and RSX
do not change the suspension geometry, but add
a high performance look.
Pfffft nevermind than...

The stockers wouldn't be on our car unless it did it's job. I see no use for these LCA's on the street.

I see no use for these LCA's anywhere...

Sjracer, you could say that about every component that we replace with aftermarket mods.
The bushings in these arms are polyurethane not rubber so there is some higher performance although small.

Do you road race? If not, then stock is good enough for the streets.

At this moment.... no after waranty runs out, yes. By then I will have the car set for the track with the Jackson SC.
I'll be taking it off the road for the weekend race series. But that's in a year and a half.
To each their own and I can accept the fact that you're not into that kind of modification.

these will give more strength and won't flex like the stock one would under pressure. Yes, it would be more of a "track" part, but also gives that "bling" effect for the street.
SPC offers quality parts too!
Thanks,
Victor

A little more than a pound a side was lost by installing these. And yes I would agree they are less likely to flex than the OEM stamped metal ones.

not worth the money... no one road races that much here to effectively make use of them... just for bling... OEM ones are good enough for road racing cause I've seen other Honda Challenge cars with stock LCAs... from civics to regular integra gsr's... all I can think of is weight savings....

If you check the rule books for Honda Challenge, I believe that most classes will not allow the use of aftermarket LCA's. I know a lot of parts the HC guys would want to use, but simply not in the rule books.

Aftermarket rear lower conrol arms give the ability to adjust toe beyond factory settings. Examples - the use of lower springs.
