I've been looking for and exhaust for my base, I know there are ones from Magnaflow and one from Comptech that are either made to fit our cars, or have adapters so they fit. What I would like to know is. Does anyone have the Fujitsubo power getter on their base? and does it get power, like it does for the type-S?

I've done some research and I know they only intended it for the type-S, however I still would like to hear from a base owner who owns one of these exhausts

I will be buying this exhaust. All you need is a Type-S exhaust manifold! Fujitsubo acctually has a great sound clip on their website if you are interested.

What do you need to get it too work.
Type S Exhaust Manifold or Type S short header?
What about a cat?
I'm afraid this exhaust might be too quiet for my liking.

anyone who has a base model can put a type s exhaust on it for very cheap. the type s cat is smaller than the base resulting in a shorter exhaust. I bought an apexi n1 cat back exhaust made for a type s and put it on my base very easily. all you have to do is add about 4 inches of pipe to it. VERY EASY. cost about 50$ extra to get it put on.

Hey Ac1Cap, I have the Spoon N1 and the B-pipe (so it's basically a spoon cat-back)
I would like to know what you have modified to make your exhaust fit? Is it just a Type-S cat plus some extra piping? Did they have to cut/weld your apexi b-pipe to the extra piping?
Also where are you located? I'm in philly and if you can hook me up with the shop you went to  Thanks in advance!

no, you dont even need to get a type s cat. you keep the same base cat. there is a section in the b pipe that is basically straight. they cut the exhaust right there and added about 6 inches and welded that in. i am a mechanic, but i dont weld so i just took it to raptco. they charged me 80 for the whole job. thats also putting the exhaust on for me.

Hey thanks guys that's a lot of good info. This at least gives me more choice in which exhaust I get for my base.
Hey Fusion, how is the HKS hiper, I'm looking for something that is not overly noise or fart-cannish, but still provides decent gains.

If you have this, is there a cat still involved? Is this legal setup for the street?

Why would you get a type S exhaust?
Buy a race header for Type S, new cat, and an aftermarket cat-back, it will fit fine if you don't have an aftermarket sway bar.

if you like a deep tone, the hiper has it, it is somewhat loud during highway speeds, but you can just slap on the silencer....

i meant a aftermarket Type S exhaust. Im going to be putting a race header on my car shortyly and to make it fit the base (or from what i understand/read) you need to buy a highflow cat, then have the test pipe, cut and welded to fit the extra gap between the race header and the base exhaust.

You could also go custom. That's what I did. I did 2.5" soft crush bend into a glass pack resonator and a dynomax. got it all done for 300.

So if i were to get the comptech race headers and have it cut and welded with a high flow cat it would be street legal? I assume so but the question is how much would it cost? who could do it? I also want to purchase a Fujitsubo (RM01A). But i have to make sure it doesnt void my warranty:nervous:

If you're worried about voiding your warranty, buy comptech parts. According to my local Acura dealership Comptech parts are Acura approved.

if u have race header, u don't need the cat, it goes straight from the header to the cat-back i think. that's what i'm going to be doing, JR race header and borla exhaust.

Custom here too. Went all stainless (Borla exhaust and resonator). Very deep sound. Not too lound unless WOT. Also have AEM CAI.
For all you folks with headers, how much of a difference does it make when coupled with Exhaust & Intake? Worth the $600 (stainless) or not?
