Yeah Hi I'm a new member here and I was just wondering how high does the base RSX rev at 80mph on top gear...for the automatic.:)

actuallyin the correct gear in SS you can reve to redline at 80mph.

for a stock auto rsx at 80mph, in 5th gear it would be around 3500rpm or 4000rpm

lol, u can't redline at 80 well atleast not stock i believe, my second gear cuts off right about 70.

Base redline in second is 64mph, 3rd gear redline is 81. Basically every 20 mph increment is a redline starting at around 40mph.

But the automatic RSX has different gear ratios.

when do you guys shift anyways? right when it touches or b4 it touches red line cuz in SS it lag a little bit

the max throttle shift points are about 35, 70, 110, which is at fuel cutoff.
The drop when at cruise is the torque converter locking up/not slipping thus giving a solid connection thru the trans giving better gas milage. The OD is better/lower rpm for road speed than the manual boxes.

are u guys sure it's all the way at 3500? cuz at 75 mph, i'm at like 2600 rpms.

Wow, that's nice and low. The auto's 5th gear ratio is much smaller than the manual's 5th gear, which means lower RPMs.

5th LU is 60 mph at vtec point 2200 rpm
the lockup work from 45 mph to 110 mph. in 2nd thru 5th gears.
