i have about $600 dollars saved for my car right now! but i really dont know what to do with it. I was thinking dc sports shorty headers or tein s tech springs. which should i get for my base? or what else can i get for my base with the money. any ideas are appreciated. thanks

i thought they didnt make a race header for the base. and i already have an exhaust so i dont want to get a type s race header (if thats what you were refering to). I dont want to mess with my ecu either. thanks alot for your input though punkdrum. your car looks awesome. what are you lowered on?

ha hes lowered on goldline! Go spend quick!!!! lets see. 250 for springs and install, and around 350-400 for headers and install
so your good for about 600 or 650. Race header would be nice but i dno how it would sound, u would lose the cat :(. Or you can donate to me and i can buy me a turbo and u can drive in it :)

you can put a type s race header on a base model by having a highflow cat custom fitted. all you have to do is cut the test pipe to make up for the extra gap.

I love my goldline springs, 140 and free for install because i did it myself.

springs are a definite now! going on monday to pick up a set. as for the shorty header...im getting second thoughts. i heard it does really nothing for perfomance (even though dc sports claims 6whp)! i'd rather save up more money for my rims next....hopefully. i dont want a race header cuz i wanna stay legal. LOL you think a shorty header would make my car sound nicer though??? if the header gives 6whp and good sound i might get it too! LOL ya think i can actaully get both installed for $650? that seems a little low considering i have to do everything local....

install it yourself. As for 6 hp....The hondata intake gasket is supposed to give you 5 hp and its only 60 bucks. I installed mine yesterday and i love it.

The hondata gasket only gave good gains on the Type-s, the base model's intake manifold is made of that plastic material, so the gasket didn't do as much for us.

They can check the ECU program, which in fact they would if they have a reason to believe that you've over revved your engine. If it has revs recorded at above fuel cut-off then they will refuse to service the engine because they believe they have evidence that you've raced the car.

I never would say my car is the fastest and I don't think it is, shit if I had the money I'd buy a better car but this is all I can afford. I have modded my car and I know what I can take. I wouldn't say I could beat an STI, shit I wouldn't say I could beat a Neon SRT.
