View Full Version : K20a3 gains 17whp with AEM V2!?!?
AEM's dyno claims a 15whp peak hp gain with just a V2 on a Civic Si. 131whp ---> 146whp at 6500rpm.
The midrange gain is even beefier. 17whp jump at 5000rpm (18lb-ft torque increase).
Thoughts?

I think it's BULLSHIT :) Maybe 8 HP but not 16-17HP gain, that's a ghey claim.

Just received the latest issue of Turbo magazine and they featured a modified Honda Civic that went 0-200mph in 6 seconds. It had an AEM V2 intake.

Agree, except I think it is less. Like 5HP to the wheels IMO.

According to the AEM website, there is peak gain of only 5 hp @ 4000rpm. Why is it that the base does not respond as well as the Type-S?

Mainly, design of the Intake manifold. That and the fact that we really don't have a decent i-VTEC.
