Ok, Im new to this whole car thing and Im just wondering what is the next thing i can do performance wise for my car. i already have AEM CAI.
I hear headers and exhaust. well what kind of headers are good? i dont even know what they are. im just trying to find somethign inexpensive that will boost my cars HP up a bit :)
any help is appreciated. please dont tell me to read through the threads, i have done that plenty and still have no clue what any of this is

Headers are not inexpensive and, generally, they do not boost horsepower very much. Time for exhaust I would say...

Exhaust won't do much without a header either :p I'd say go for Hondata :)

NEVERMIND! I take that back, u dont wanna be loud, no race header then. and for exhaust, stay away from Tanabe!

Hondata is $595. Pumps your redline and gives you good gains across the rev range. A good exhaust already runs $400+, the gains are dependent on what you already have.

You can get a race header and a stock type-s exhaust so it wouldn't be so loud ans since will need it to bolt on the race header. And when you get the funds Hondata.

Well if your planning on going FI later down the road, don't get headers, but I'd say performance wise, lower your car, I'd suggest tein ss, (the ones for the base have everything the ha does). But thats really expensive. I'd suggest lowering springs you can find em fairly cheap.

You want springs?, I can hook you up with Eibach Ground Control Coilovers mounted on stock struts.

Will an exhaust and header kill your low end due to not enough back pressure? I have the exhaust and intake, planning on header next, but am worried about bottom end being non existent. It isn't exactly a torque monster as it is.

yeah in some cases it does, but you'll definitely gain some either in mid or top,so no worries:thumbsup:

Thanks. Mid to upper is where I like to "roam" anyway. I noticed a huge increase in passing power with just the intake and exhaust.

ok i would love to know what any of this means. i was reading about the headers and exhaust. okay i do know what exhuast is lol im not THAT dumb. but i was reading about the headers in this thread and im not really sure what they are. how much are they?? how much HP will have I/H/E give me?
what is hondata?

Header (Not headers because there is only one header on an inline motor) is the exhaust manifold. It's directly opposite of the intake manifold. Exhaust manifold is where the air comes out from the motor, the manifold directs the air into the exhaust system were it flows out the tailpipe :) Depending on your i/h/e setup it varies from 10-15 HP I'm guessing, it's different on every car.
Hondata provides the ECU reflash (Basically they upload their program into your car's computer) which provides nice gains and bumps your redline higher. And Hondata also provides a plastic intake manifold gasket, reducing air intake temperature into the motor. Like Jame S stated in another post: www.hondata.com ;)

I had this setup for a while with comptechdropin filter, and it killed my gas mileage really bad. i was getting 19-20 a mile. Although, the low end was decent, the high end suffered.
Then I got an INJEN CAI which resulted in 25+ mpg, better midrange and high end, low end suffered a little bit..not enough to bother me because the CAI is a beast in the winter.
