Hey everyone after getting my jdm headlights for free (wont tell you how). I was getting sick and tired of the left headlight being completly out of whack. Now a good friend of mine KevinG and Wiseguy and they said that the headlights can be adjusted and ive seen his headlights with HIDs so i know there not as bad as mine. After going downstairs and playing around with the headlights they can def be adjusted........
FOR LEFT HEADLIGHT (would be right one when looking from the front)
#1)Put a PHILLIPS screwdriver inside the slot for the LOW beam adjustment.
#2) Turn the screwdriver CLOCKWISE to go down and COUNTER-CLOCKWISE to go up.
I urge everyone with jdms to go out and try it since its dark out now. It takes a while for the headlight to eventually go down but it def def goes down.

i'm pretty sure the fuss is about the beam curve of the JDM headlights and not the vertical adjustment.

haha i feel stupid now. Someone gave me the headlights as a gift its a long story and im to tired and my eyes hurt from looking at my headlights. But im sure the horizontal alignment isnt adjustable on USDM lights either. But im sure the knob that says do not adjust is probably for that.

i just got my JDM headlights and i heard that the driver's side (our pass side) is angled in a little so as not to bother on-coming traffic. is that right?

i haven't installed mine yet, so i'll check it when they go in :)

who said they couldnt be adjusted? People complain about it because you cant adjust it all the way into specs

_/ _/ vs \_ \_

:iamwiths:

USDM lights are angled like _/ _/ to light up road signs and not blind oncoming traffic.

JDM lights are angled like \_ \_ for the same reasons, since they drive on the othe side of the road. but with these ights in the US on left-hand drive cars, it blinds oncoming traffic

oh trust me they can be adjusted real far down. Thats the first mistake i made i went to far down. The pass side is angled down and the driver side is angled up to much but if you turn the adjusting screw for a while all is well

I have the chance to get a set of perfect condition JDM's for $150 and my OEMs. I keep reading about the angle and people getting high beamed all the time. Is it possible with spacers or anything to get them adjusted so they aren't that bad to uncoming traffic. Also I plan on getting HIDs eventually and have doubts after reading some posts. Should I do it or just do the DIY? I need to know by early this afternoon. HELP.

ok, once again

USDM lights
_/__/
JDM lights
\_\__

sure, both can be adjusted, but heres what you get
USDM lights (ignore dots, used for spacing)
. .__/ (overexageration i know)
_/
JDM lights

see, of course all headlights are adjustable, its the BEAM PATTERN thats wrong, it makes them angle to the left instead of right. thus it angles your lights straight into oncoming traffic instead of at roadsigns, sure you can adjust it way down, but then you reduce visibility on your part...

so the decision is yours... i chose DIY to save $ and to have the correct patter.
but the best thing to do is buy JDM and USDM lights, and swap the bulb housing (reflective parts) in them so you have true JDM lights with a USDM light pattern.

Thats what I did. I have USDM housings with JDM inserts. Only the "blacked out" portion is JDM, the rest is USDM.
