View Full Version : MY 3RD GEAR IS WEAK AS HELL. Need more torque!!!! Help

I hope I'm not the only one who noticed this but my 3rd gear sucks ass. I know about most of the mods out there but i havent done any of them yet. What is a good way to increase the torque on the low end. even my b-18 non vtech LS has more low end torque.

If you have a base, get used to it, every base owner has that complaint. BUt if you have a type s it shouldn't, they have that "Magic 3rd Gear" :D

dude.. tie some horses to the front of ur car.. and when u hit 3rd.. whip the shit outta them.. that'll give u some torque

Damn!!!!! I have a type S and 3rd seems shitty. Maybe i better go recheck my skills. I can drive a vette like noones business. maybe this little car is different. Just feels weak to me cus im used to pulling low 12's stock

I thought that the second gear in a car is usually the strongest. Are you guys saying that the third gear is the strongest overall?

Well, with the turbo, 1st and 2nd gear I have no traction. So 3rd gear pulls like crazy. Haha

1990 corvette ZR1 is what i drive that pulls low 12's. dont get me wrong its not mine its my dads. I was just comparing cus thats what im used to. totally different world. by the way, no the ZR1 is not a normal corvette. The engine was made by lotus. It will do 180mph right off the showroom floor. The engine can handle just under 1000hp but the problem is a twin turbo kit for that car is about $12000, haha. Imagine taking the rear tires off that car (315/45/ZR17) and putting them on the front of ours!! can we say GIMME MORE POWER PLEASE
