i have red interior neons under the dash and accenting the sub box
they look really nice
i might do red underbody LEDs after i get my buddy club kit for shows
yeahi - neon or LED ? your better off with LED because if you break some of the LEDs the tube will still work unlike neons where you have to replace the whole tube
ill try to get some pics of my interior ones
oh ya .... yeahi whats with the random sig changing ... you've gone through like 3 sigs in 2 days .. cant decide what one u like?
yeahi
07-06-2004, 08:31 PM
lol yea man i just can't decide!
I'm not sure if they're neons or LED's. For interior i'm going to go with something simple, 4 4'' red neons. They'll be bright but not like the sun up in there. Then for outside its the kit. I dont know how i'm going to mount the kit on the outside though, i'm thinking double sided tape to the inside of the body kit. Or just screw it up there somewhere.

I dig your new sig yeahi, I've been thinking about throwing some blue underbodys on my ride for shows, but I'm not so sure yet.

btw, hey yeahi, you think I could throw diffusers on my kit like you did. That looks hot on your, but my side mouth piece things on the bumper don't angle. Here's a pic, what do ya think?

i have 15s under the dash .. driver side is screwed up to the plastic piece under the dash and the passenger side is zip tied to some pieces of frame up underneath the dash
in sub box ones are on the sides of the trunk just screwed into the actual trunk wall
15s light up alot of space .. up to about the end of the floor mats
the 9s dont light up all that much .. maybe like a foot or alittle more of red glow
but they all look really good since they are run into the music interface so they flash whenever the subs hit ... matches the dash perfectly
for the underbodies yeahi i wouldnt tape them up .. look for somewhere to either screw them up or zip-tie them
my interiors are all neons
i was going to get neon underbody's but i heard from a friend that is big into neon lighting that the LEDs are a better kit - glows more, more resistant to knocks and scrapes, and is able to be controlled via a remote (like the flashing sequences)
oh and one more thing .. yeahi .. that new sig is definately hott man .. i think i like that one the best out of the 3 ive seen lately .. that INGS front looks soo mean with the intercooler

damn man you're car has come a long way with the kit and graphics, looks hot. I don't think the diffusers i have would fit, they are made especially for the ings kit, they fit the curves nicely. But there are some other diffusers out there that are universal. Might want to look into that.

Hmm interesting, i'll see what happenes when i go to put them on, thanks for the heads up. My have neons, just checked the box. But my neons can be controlled from a little thing. I can put i to pulse, strobe, go witht he music, and a few other ones. But i think i'm just going to cut them and hard wire all the inside ones to one switch for just regular. Then for the outside do the same for the regular, i don't really need the pulse or anything.
btw, thanks for the sig compliments. Props go to civtrx

wow...this is the perfect thread! You know how long I have been lookin into the set-up of these neon lights? I'm having trouble hooking these things up!!!
I bought couple red neons to put under the drivers foot and the passengers foot..the ones I bought come with a cigarette lighter plug-in but I figured I would just cut those off and attach the positive and negatives to the battery. BAD IDEA!!! Well of course I put a switch in between them, but once I hooked it all up, I turned on the switch and the wire cought on fire from the battery and it was headin through my firewall.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to hook these things up in the most elementary way? I have 2 neon lights and a switch (with three prongs). How do I hook these things up...if I need a fuse in line, how strong does the fuse need to be? I have also heard that you can hook it up to your factory harness or a fuse box. And how the hell do you hook it up to your music? I'm sorry for all the confusion, but if someone can help me through this, I would REALLY appreciate it!!!
Pictures would help if someone can post their setup with their wiring work. Actually, if someone can draw me a schematic and post it, it would also help. THANKS!!

hahaha what were u thinking? no offence man but that batter is strong. yes u use the fuse box and for music u must have sound activated ones. ill eventualy do a write up... since i am the "neon guy" according to sqratchdc5 lol

i have mine hooked up to the battery .. been like that for a year no problems
pooya .. .did u have a grounded wire connected to the switch as well?
for music i am using the streetglow optx music interface .. you run the neon wires into it and then it allows the neons to be flashed in beat with the music at whatever intensity you want
then the music interface powers a switch that then grounds out, controls the neons and interface, receives power from the battery
only hook up the positive end of the switch to the battery, the second terminal should be whatever you are controlling, third is your ground
complex - how did you run a fuse tap .. i didnt think they made fuse taps for our size fuses ... thats why i just ran a tap off the battery

accualy i just stuck the positive wire under the 15a fuse, fuse #8 i think and grounded the other wire

That's great, a nine-post newbie comin in and acting like he can be the end all of whats what. :thumbsdow
BTW, Lamer, if you were literate enough to read, you'd see it's for shows. Most likely you drive a bunk ass stockie, so I understand that you'd have no idea what a "show car" would constitute.

I had them mounted under the seats. 2 facing towards the front, another set of 2 facing the rear. Looks cleaner that way. It lights up the entire floor and you cant see the bars.

Thanks for the propz azn. My sponsor http://www.williamskustompaint.com is doing my paintwork. I designed it all and then got it all custom painted by my sponsor. I've still got so much work to do on it, it isn't any where near finished. Still have an insane amount on interior and engine work to do once it gets back from the finalization of all my exterior.

how can anyone make rice comments about neons when we have people with crazy ass cars like frozt and yeahi here
neons arent necessarily rice .. its not like we have them plugged into a quad socket in the front accessory port with wires showing and you dont see any of the tubes
so keep the rice comments out .. if you dont like interior and exterior neons then just dont post
this thread is for those who need help wiring and setting up the tubes not for people to bash neons

i got one quick question.... how do i find the ecu serial number? i took of the 2 plastic parts under the steering wheel already...
NirvanaandTool
07-08-2004, 10:14 PM
eh .. i have no clue on that one
an ECU modification is the last thing on my agenda for my car
try running a search on it .. there has to be a post on it somewhere
Frozt
07-08-2004, 11:34 PM
The ecu is under the passenger side dash. The immobilizer is under the steering wheel. Look under the passenger side. :) If you need more help lemme know. I can't think clearly right now tho, drunken post :p
WIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

i just found out that chris just posted on the store a hondata reflash for the base auto
maybe i should reconsider that last post about my mod agenda
exhaust or the hondata reprogram? im thinkin hondata reprogram since its worth it for the gains
but that would have to come after the body kit and wheels
is the immobilizer hard to remove? im a newb when it comes to ecu mods lol thanks

well ive been thinking of putting neon lights to my very stock 2002 rsx, but i would like to know how much it costs for the lights and what are the best ones that would last me a long time...thanks, oh and how hard are they to install because i am really not good at all that electronic stuff...
NirvanaandTool
07-09-2004, 07:26 PM
neons arent that expensive ... around maybe 20-30 per tube
id go with either streetglow or redline neons .. i have the streetglow optx series
i explained the install briefly earlier in the thread .. its an install for the optx neons that can use a music interface to make the neons flash to the music .. but pretty much every neon install is the same .. neon wires connect to a switch that either gets power from the battery or a fuse tap .. the switch will have three terminals, the power from the battery, the neon wire, and a ground-out to a piece of metal in the frame
its not a hard install, just make sure your tubes dont show when you look regularly at the car and hide all your wires
if you need any other help with this stuff let us know on this thread
