looks like you will be needing a camber kit when you lower the car......It's already starting to go negetive on you. The car will look sooo tight when you lower it.
What are you going with ...H&R , Eibach,Comptech....Nuespeed?

 Sweet! Once I get my Type-S I know which wheels I'll be getting. Thanks for posting the pics, I've been looking forward to seeing what they would look like on the satin silver since you propped them up against your original wheels a few weeks back.

I might go with the Eibach...the other ones dont seem like they give an even drop from the pics I have seen and I dont know anything about the Nuespeeds?

Question, how much do they weigh a peice, without tires? Or does anyone know where I can find this information?

Just fyi with 225/40/18 your speedo is reading 0.8% too slow at 60 mph so you are actually travelling at 60.5 mph. That would be acceptable but at the 225/35/18 at 60 mph your speedo would now be reading 2.7% too fast so you are actually travelling 58.4 mph. That in itself is no too bad a thing but proportianetly it would put your odometer out by a similar amount I believe because your smaller diameter means you are completing a revolution of your wheel sooner and you would add extra mileage as your speedometer/odometer are not calibrated for this. Mind you in theory you would now look like you are getting a little better gas mileage.
I am no expert and somebody maybe able to clarify or dispel my thoughts on some of this but the speedometer aspect is factual. There are a couple of sites on the web that you can play with wheel and tire sizes to see what different combo's will do versus stock.
Here is one link, http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html there are others out there as well.

yes but 40 series tires look too big. all i have to do is get it re-calibrated once i get them put on there.

That's true, but a lot of people don't even think about it, obviously you are aware and know what to do. A lot of tire places don't even mention it too people just let them buy whatever they want to spend their money on. Must admit a lot of people on this site are very knowledgeable but there are new drivers that aren't. By listening and learning to people like yourself and others they can get a lot of knowledge that would have in the past taken years to accumulate. Should look good when you get it done.

umm, its gonna be hard to get all stock diameters. 2.7 really isnt that bad. When you start hittin 5 it can get inda drastic. remember though, with a smaller diameter he reduces his final drive ratio, increasing accelleration throughout the band, not to mention decreased unsprung weight :)
One more FYI, make sure a 225/35 will fit on a 7.5 inch width, you may have to go with a 8 inch width if you can.

Not sure of the weight without tires. ...but with tires mounted and balanced they weighed approx. 45 lbs. each.

2k2silver...If you are looking for a tire with less sidewall, you need to go with a 215 series tire. The middle number deals with the actual with of the tire, and the first number is how bit the tires diameter is. So you might want a 215/40/18. Just thought I'd let you know.
Maybe I read that wrong but here's what it means.
Using 225/35ZR18 as an example:
First number, 225 is the width of the tires expressed in mm; therefore the tire width is 225mm.
Second number, 35 represents the sidewall height. It is actually a percentage of the tire width. Therefore, it is 35% of 225mm. Multiply 225 x .35 to get the exact figure.
A wider tire, let's say 245/35ZR18, will have a bigger sidewall as well. This is to maintain the air chamber (which supports the car's weight) of the tire.
Last number, 18 is of course the wheel diameter that will fit inside the tire.
Point is, 225 will fit fine on 7.5" wide rims.
Here's a pic of the wheels I will have on my Tib.
They are on 225/40ZR18 Toyos however I told them to place 225/35ZR18 Toyos on them. Some reason they put the wrong tires on in the beginning.
