Does anyone have an opinion on the preferred care of the RSX clear coat. Is an ultraviolet agent neccessary to protect the car against sun fade? I have been under the impression that the clear coat would do this for me and that a decent coat of wax 2 to 3 times per year should proctect the paint just fine.
Opinions?

The clearcoat if it protects the under paint from the suns rays will probably still be affected it-self.

basically the sun will hurt your paint. The meguires homepage reccomends for most areas that you wax your car atleat 8times a year.

I wax mine probably every 2 weeks. Ive had the car for 2 years and it still looks great!

Alloy,
Yeah, I have been to that site and got the Rx for my area... wax it 10 times per year! Yikes. Let me know what type of wax you are using and if there is an UV protectant added. Thanks. FB

I change off between waxes or try a variety of different products.

However for a long time I used Meguires Gold Glass Wax. This is a very nice synthetic wax and I believe it has a UV protector.

But Since I wax my car ALOT I try and use a completely Non-Abrasive Wax. Such as a Carnuba wax. Ive used Zymol (very Exspensive) and hi-teck yellow wax #27 by Meguries.

If Im in the mood I will first polish the car with Meguires Show car glaze and then apply a canyba wax to hold in the shine.

I'm pretty sure that all waxes these days have a UV protector in them.
