OK, when i bought my base i boughht cloth , planning to swap out for leather. Which I did...now, it's starting to crack a bit on the bolsters and harden on the seats edge, so the question(s) are...do you think Acura will replace it? And should i go in acting as if they are
a-the cars original seats, or
b-just keep my mouth shut they were swapped in and hope for the best?
any ideas?

I vote for choice A. Just tell'em those originals and that they're cracking and should be fixed under warranty. I hope your backseats were swapped for leather as well otherwise you'd be owned. :p

Yeah, they were, an I havto do the sparco door panels first since mine are cloth, I just didn't know if they'd look up if i got leather w/ the car. They'd prolly fix it and charge me :(I looked it up, just the covers are like 1k total from Acura...insane. No wonder the waiting areas so nice :)
I could always argue that since they are from a 2003 the seats themselves should be under warrenty anyway :)

Are you the first owner of the car? If you bought it used, and they call you on the cloth seats thing, you could at least claim that the previous owner had swapped out for leather and he had told you the warranty was still intact. You might get a sympathy discount in that case.

How many miles are on the leather seats? I mean if they are under 40K, then what's the big deal? The warranty is fully transferable.........

I've been to 3 dealers about gettin my seats fixed (cracking and whatnot)...
#1: Sorry, that is normal wear and tear, can't help ya under the warranty
#2: Sorry, normal wear and tear
#3: We can replace just the middle sections (what you sit on) with new pads, but the side bolsters won't get new leather.
I'm still waiting on the new middle leather from #3...

What kind of condition were the seats in when you purchased them?

I thought the seat covers were a one piece item........:dontknow: Sounds like BS to me. Specially if you still don't have them.

nah..the center is different than the outside...its different material alltogether...so they replace just the center leather panels and leave the sides as they are.
The reason I don't have them yet is they are being ordered in along with some other pieces...go warranty!

just ask acura to replace em. under warranty the leather cracking while in the coverage time frame means bad workmanship or material used so they usually will replace it if its bad. As for cracking please please use leather wipes and conditioners once or twice a month and u wont see cracks or rarely...
