So i had a little incident with my stock tires and two wheels...im pissed as shit at them. im gonna burn them when im done and my car is back.

question is whats a good all around tire that will fit on the stock wheels. from what i have found so far is taht the 02-04 models have a stock tire size of 205/55/16(i think). after taht i dont know much about tires.

what would be best for stock OEM wheels
215/55-16
225/50-16
235/50-16

(what discount tire is giving me for shoices on stocker size)
any help would be great...currently looking at Yokohama AVS ES100?

and if you would like to know what happened id be glad to show you

I just got the Yokohama AVID V4s tire and they are a tremendous leap over the stock tires. Good treadlife too.

If you are willing to spend that kind of money, the P zero nero cant be beat for a all season tire. I would suggest looking at the Continental ContiExtreemContact. Very good all around tire and the price is very good.

225/50/16 works great on the stockies. Some people dont like how they 'bulge' a bit, but I don't notice it at all. I like having the extra contact patch.

Also, if you're looking at good all-season tires, consider the Falken Ziex 512. Excellent tire!

Blaze,

Either of the tires that you listed will work great on the R. The deal sealer is the fact that Pirelli is offering a $50 mail-in rebate on the PZero's until 8/6.

Shoot me a PM or give me a call if you have anymore questions.

I bought my '03 S used and it came with some brand new Michelin Pilot Sports, 205/55/16. I love em. Excellent dry/wet weather traction. Treadwear is minimal. I never hydroplaned once with these tires, but once i put 17" 05-06 S wheels with the stock Michelins, my cars all over the road in rainy situations. :shakehead:

if you thinking about driving them in the snow, you can pretty much rule out all your choices except the p nero zero.

Goodyear Eagle GS-D3's are the best wet tyre about. Read a test recently and it blew everything else away in the wet. Pretty average in dry though.

How many miles are you looking to put on a set?
What Kind of driving do you do?

Kdw-great tire, relatively short life
Falken ziex 512-longer life, less traction
pirelli-expensive performance allseason
Gdyr F1-great tire, decent treadlife

Get the brand new Falken ZE-912's...they are replacing the 512's and they are better/improved. They just came out like last week @ DTD. I just ordered some...$97.00/tire.

What about the new Nitto Invo? VERY interesting tread design, IMO...

i noticed there were 2 other tires besides the 512 to the ZE line, but are they more peromance oriented or just normal tires? i cant find any info about that anywhere

Im not sure if you want directional or non-directional but right now I have Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S on mine in 205/55/16 and Im happy with them...
They are non-directional so they can still be rotated properly without un-mounting them, they stick well, and they arnt very expensive, Im expecting about 25000 miles out of them. I have about 15k-18k on them now. With the weather here in NC, I am ok in the rain and even when it snows a little. They are quiet and they look pretty nice too.....
thats just my 2cents.
good luck
p.s. Im going to jump up to the 225/50/16 with my next set, but that is because I want to get some 16x8 rota slipstreams and the stock tire size will not hold a width of 8 inches. just for the record.

There is an "All Season" Goodyear F1 - Any thoughts on that one?

Personally I am looking for a good all around tire - that does nothing specifically spectacular , but doesnt most all very well.

I've had P Zero Nero's M+S for about 1.5 years now and I'm about ready to get new tires. While I had them they were absolutely fantastic. I drove up to Tahoe while they were new and drove through pretty shitty snowy conditions without any issues. I was really happy. In dry weather they were just as good.

Toyo T1R'S Hands down for my choice, i even used them in snow. work great in rain and give good traction on dry pavement. But their are alot of other tires to choose from
