I've heard a lot of people praising the Zaino polishes and their other products.

How is this different from wax?

Do multiple coats of polish provide the same protection as waxes, or should you combine the two (Wax + polishes)?

Please help guide a lost soul...

Check it out little buddy,

Wax is wax. Bees wax, palm wax, ear wax. Wax
Polish is often a mixture of wax and petroleum spirits and very very fine particles that lift off the top coat of paint.

Wax til the cows come home and all you get is shine.
Polish tilt he cows come home, you eat thru the clearcoat ,into the base coats , and eventually you hit sheetmetel.

Of course I'm over simplifying, but you get the idea.

Use WAX on your new car, not polish.
Don't believe me? Check you owners manual. Can't quote the page number. My baby is at the airport parking lot. And don't think, I'm not missing her.

WAX PROTECT YOUR CLEAR COAT FROM UV RAYS AND WEATHERING .POLISH WILL GIVE THE SHINE AND LUSTER YOU WANT..... I SAY USE A 3 STEP CLEANER,POLISH ,THEN WAX. MOTHERS WAX........THE CLEANER WILL CLEAN THE TOP LAYER OF CLEAR COAT..THEN POLISH IT HAS CARNUBA IN IT ....THEN WAX ...THIS WILL GIVE YOU A LONG LASTING PROTECTION...DO FULL 3 STEP EVERY 3TO6 MONTHS....YOU CAN JUST WAX THEN EVERY WEEK IF YOU LIKE......,BUT REMEMBER EVERYTIME YOU WAX YOU REMOVE A SMALL LAYER OF CLEAR COAT..MINIMAL CLEAR ....NOT TO WORRY

Wait wait, I think some of what you said is wrong. First polish don't have carnauba in it, carnauba are found in some waxes. And waxes come in 2 forms, carnauba wax and synthetic wax.

Most important of all, you don't remove any clear coat when you wax the car. You can actually layer Carnauba waxes ontop, to create a thicker layer to give the added protection.

What really remove small layer of your clear coat are the abbrasive cleaners use to remove swirl marks and scratches on your clear coat.

However, the 3 steps are correct. Cleanr, polish, then wax.

You could be right if there is carnauba in polish too.

One thing I know for sure is that for older cars, they didn't have clear coat at all. That's why the color comes off when you wipe it with a cloth. Back in the old days, cars didn't have a clear coat at all. But now, things change, and a clear coat is added ontop of the paint for protection. So the waxes go ontop of the clearcoat, and not remove the clear coat. But if you are using a electrical buff and buff too hard, you can wear out the clearcoat during waxing. If you do it by hand, that shouldn't be a problem.

My main question was how one was to use wax with Zaino products, because I really wanted to try this stuff out.

After some conflicting info, I'd figure I'd get it straight from the horse's mouth, so I sent an email to Sal Zaino (zainobros@zainobros.com) this morning and he replied to me this afternoon. This info in addition to the FAQ (http://www.zainobros.com/files/faq.htm) and Tips and Tricks (http://www.zainobros.com/files/tips.htm) pages on the Zaino Bros website (http://www.zainobros.com) pretty much answer my questions.

- Should I be applying wax anytime after multiple coats of Z-2 polish? OR is the polish sufficient to stand its own in protecting my paint?

No!!!!. Do not put wax on top of Zaino.

Zaino Show Car Polish is 99.9% optically perfect. Do not put anything on top of Zaino except Zaino. That would defeat the whole purpose of my product.

Zaino Show Car polish contain no abrasives, harmful solvents or silicone oils. Zaino will outprotect, outshine and outlast anything in the industry. It will offer more protection than any wax in the industry.... Guaranteed! Plus they're extemely easy to use.

Zaino polish is a true paint protectant. It will give your paint finish total environmental protection and is the only protectant you will ever need. You will see!!!

- After applying numerous coats of Z-2 for deep shine… After a couple weeks, does one use the Z-7 wash, and then apply polish lok and polish on top?

Z-1 is to be applied twice a year on an everyday car and once a year on a show car. Also, please reapply Z-1 after every ten coats of Zaino polish(Z-2 Or Z-5 or both). Z-1 will never remove Zaino. It will tighten up and strengthen the polish system and increase the gloss.

- After how long is it suggested to re-clay bar or use Dawn again as a car wash to clean everything off the paint surface?

Zaino will protect your paint finish from future airborne contaminants.... But airborne contaminants can attack Zaino polish. I usually Clay my everyday car every 12 to 24 months if it needs it. A light Claying will not remove Zaino polish, but will remove any airborne contaminants....
