For those who plans to try out the product from Rain X, here are my experiences.

I have tried both Rain X original glass treatment and Rain X anti-fog. The original glass treatment works great on all the exterior glass on the car. The rain beeds very nicely and when you travel on the highway, there's no need to turn on your windshield wipers, don't believe me, try it yourself. The rain drops will just slide away. But in city traffic, you do need a little help from the wipers.

One down side to the original glass treatment are some noticable smear on the glass at night when you drive under city lights. Kind of like a thin film of oil that has been wipped by a cloth, but it will go away after a few rainy days.

As for the Rain X anti-fog, I didn't like it at all. After you apply to the interior of the windows, I find that it was very impossible to buff the windows back to a perfectly clear glass. The white haze just wouldn't go away. It's especially noticable when driving under a sunny day. Everytime I look at the rear view mirror, the window was covered with a little white haze which made the glass look dirty.

Therefore, I highly recommend Rain X original glass treatment, and not Rain X anti-fog.

Rain-x outside is the only way to go. I have been using it for at least 20 years or longer. It does leave a mist of fine drops when using the wipers at low speeds but I have done 50-70 in downpours without using the wipers at all(above `40 I never use wipers) the inside Anti-fog I used once, never again even bathroom mirrors) 2-3 months for renewal. It takes a little practice but worth the effort.

Have either of you used the Rain-X washer treatment? Its a liquid you add to water or washer fluid which cleans and applies Rain-X in one foul swoop. I doubt it's an effective replacement for a base coat of Rain-X, as it only gets applies to the portion of windshield that get wiped by the wipers, but it could serve as a way to lengthen the time between applications...

Just a thought...

I don't know if the washer treatment will still work in the cold temperatures at where I live, so i don't want to take the risk of freezing my washer system.

Also, I don't know if it will have any effect on the paint surface.

The Rain X original treatment will be more than enough to handle the rain.

I use the washer treatment but I live in a moderate temp. I do not see a big diff but it seems to extend the redo interval. It does not replace the full treatment tho. I do all glass even the top piece. The Integra would show the slip stream on the sides of the back window with min airflow down the middle which led me to doubt the true aero effects of a spoiler other than appearance.

Rain-X kicks butt on the windows and windshield. Your best bet is to take a spray bottle and spray the windshield after you apply the rain-x this get rid of the haze.
