Vandalisim Busted Back Glass [Archive]

I know I have read a couple threads on here about ppl getting the cars keyed, and broken into and I just like reading and seeing what all happend.

Well now its my turn this morning about 3-4 am some one came by my girlfriends house and decided they needed to bust out my glass. She has a 99 eclipse spyder conv. so we put up a camara about 2 months so incase some shit like this happend we would be prepaired. and it came in handy. didn't notice it till i got up to go to work about 7 and after that called the cops got the report and all made up. watch the tape State Police have it and now they have a warrent out for his arrest. I had an estiment made out today and it came to $1,200. so i am going to court soon to get this taken care of. Will keep posted. here is the picture.

Let me know how you all feel. Cause I am pretty Pissed. I know alot of people say go kick his ass and stuff but that will be after i get my money out of him and he gets out of jail.

I was once at my girlfriends apartment and I had someone come along and break the driver side window.. replaced it for like 150 bucks.. no insurance claim.... HELLO 1000$ deductable.. eff that. :)

your insurance doesn't cover your windows? i mean they do but they take deductable of windows? my insurance company doesn't deduct it over here i could go out and smash one now and get it replace FREE no deductable

It's definately repairable and given the circumstances you mentioned, you won't pay a penny for it. It'll just be an inconvenience to have to go through everything, but otherwise it's nothing.

Insurance plans are all different. For full coverage with a $0 deductible, your rates will (should) be higher than a plan with lesser coverage and a $500 deductible.

with the police report and video i wont have to pay a damn thing so i don't really want to get my insurance involved. I will check on the replacement or if there is a deductable i have never heard of anything like that. but I am going to get as much out of it as I can Ill put my car in the shop and get a rental just to make sure he has to pay as much as I can get him for and as many charges i can get him on. Its a VCR tape don't konw how to get it online. if some one can give me some info on how to i will do what i can. Also if any one has a glass or a hatch and glass let me know every interested as you can see.

Just curious but how much was it for the camera and was it hard to install it?

. Its a VCR tape don't konw how to get it online. if some one can give me some info on how to i will do what i can.

3 ways, either you have to have a video card with RCA (red, white, and yellow inputs) so you can plug the VCR into it directly. OR get an external box that connects usb that has those connections (around $50-75). OR if you have a digital camcorder w/ AV input you can xfer the video to that camcorder and then into your computer. good luck with those bastards who broke it!

Ill work on the vid thing. and I Never actually met the kid but I know who he is now. And he WILL know who i am. My girlfriend knew him and though he could get to her threw me. The camera is a single camera and monitor full color and sound works great do have motion detectors. the camera came from radio shack. I am so happy for that investment. Oh intall easy its a full weather outdoor camera with a 50 foot cable so we have it mounted on the ceiling of the front pourch so its not really noticable.

To all get cameras if your car has to be parked outside. pay a little to get the bastereds to make them pay alot. Will keep all informed.

sucks man. that shit happened to me a few months ago. broke my back windo. my driver quarter panel and my passenger tail light. didn't take anything. ever since then got camera ana d 500 viper alarm.( friend discount for only 160 ). but as far as getting the most out of it. tell him u have to replace the two back seats. i know i did when mine was busted because we have leather and the pieces of glass creats tiny cuts into the seat while u try to clean it out. doulbe check that but i think u can claim for that. insurance paid for mine. 800 per side

Awesome job with the camera! You should rig a 45 to it so it shoots a warning shot when someone gets too close. Good luck with that shit.

Thanks for all the comments guys. makes me feel a little better to know people also feel my anger. i would say the camara is about 20 feet from my car that night and it was purchasd at radio shack. i did it all my self. Color, Sound and Motion detector with a 2 way speaker so you can speak to the person outside the house. i also have a motion detector got at walmart with the flood light set up. hope this helps.

no, there is no shock sensor on the factory alarm. only goes off when the hood is popped, or a door is opened.

Yea like was said our alarms don't go off if the glass is broken. but also if the hatch doors or hood is opend they will so i didn't find this till in the morning. yea I was thinking about the CF hatch but not sure if it would really work on my silver. i have a evo cf hood and a sebion cf type R wing, what do you guys think cf hatch?

I sure am as soon as i get my money and they can't hold that aginst me in court. for some reason. but i will get intouch with you as soon as i figure out where my money is coming from and who is paying me for this. But that CF wing looks good in that pic. thanks Jim. LOL
