How often should I wax?

I wash my car once a week. How often should I be waxing it? I'm more concerned with waxing for protection than waxing for a flawless look. Thanks!

Seriously, for protection, I'd say once every 90 days ought to be more than enough.

but in reality you only need to wax your car twice a year.
