i'm not a big fan of plasmas cuz their reliability is shady.

i have a panasonic plasma and i love it. its 720p but looks amazing, 1080p is pure sex, but its a new technology, dont trust it yet. maybe in a few years i will get a 1080p.

at that size I would look for something 1080p, where you'll get a small but noticeable difference in resolution (if you do decide to go hdtv, hd-dvd, or blue ray)

anything below 40 inches 720p is fine.

What kind of stuff do you do with your TV? Play games, watch movies, or just watch regular TV?

There's always a big debate about who likes what when it comes to TVs. But, let's consider a few things so we can help answer your question.

1) First and most important is, "What's your budget?"
2) What size TV do you want?
3) Do you have a preference of LCD or Plasma?
4) What's your primary use of the TV? Video games (what consoles do you have?), Movies, or you just watch basic TV?

Those are some starter questions I think you might want to answer for us first. Because, if you're just watching public access channels, what's the point of getting HDTV if they don't broad cast in that? See where I'm going with this?

They have a 50" Vizio @ the bar I frequent on Fridays. Its between 2 Samsung Plasmas, and it looks pretty decent compared to them.
