Anyone know if the "JDM Style" headlights at NOPI are true JDM or if they are aftermarket blacked out headlights?

judging by the price, i'd expect them to be actual JDM's without HID's... definitely cheaper to just do them yourself
but then again its nopi, and nopi sucks... as such, i expect them to actually be a spraypainted set of '96 civic headlights, haha :)

Yup... I'm not quite sure if they are JDM or not... I'm looking for blacked out USDM headlights that have been manufactured that way... i.e. they haven't been cracked open... I figure if they're manufactured that way, your not going to get any condensation inside them and they're warrantied.... I can't use the OEM JDM headlights 'cause they angle the wrong way and my HIDs will blind people:)

hmmm, i hear that, and yea the angle on the JDM ones make it a bad choice... i dont know, i'd say if you dont wanna do your own then wait a little while to see who else comes out with an aftermarket headlight set (either blackened-stock design or something else you may like), cuz if these aren't JDM's then they are just way too expensive, $600!? for that much, you could get two sets of OEM headlights n paint each yourself, chances are that at least ONE of em won't end up condensing :) haha

The JDM's can be re-aimed.

Sorry for the ignorance but being newbie has its disadvantages.
What does JDM stand for or mean. I am also looking for blackened lights and see some in magazines for $159. (example -procarparts.com). Are these crap??? Any insight would be nice.
side note - what is widest tire I can fit on the type S stock rims?? aftermarket rims????

they can be re-aimed but you cannot change how the light is angled

JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market. It means that they are normally sold domestically in Japan. JDM parts come stock on the appropriate Japanese models. True JDM parts are quite pricy here in the states.

yeah, both the JDM's and the stockers can be re-aimed up and down, but i don't believe you can change the angle that aims them away from the opposite side of traffic
also, i saw an ad in SCC from procarparts.com, and they're selling a kind of black-housing semi-projector light for the RSX (clear signal too), and it was only about $160 (?) for the pair i think... doesnt seem to be on their website (not yet anyway), but for the money that seems like a steal

The headlights look to be true JDM's. I rather just paint my headlights with a black base and a bronze tinted clear then spend $600 on a set of headlights pointed the wrong way.

or if you really want to "fix up" your lights..
paint them black and with the $600 get some HIDs...
that would be much better than JDMs
