Fuck....if anyone in CT or the surrounding states happens to see my car...please please please call the police, or if you are feeling really ballsy, follow the car to their destination and call the police. The car was parked in Middletown, CT, and I last saw it at about 1:30am the morning on 4/15/2007.
The license plate number is 722 UJC (connecticut plates). The car has no front plates. I have a diy grill on my car as well. I have taken off the type-S symbol on the back, as well as the word "Acura" on the back. The Acura Logo is still on the back of the car. The back window is tinted 20%, and the driver/ passenger window is tinted 35%. It is turboed (CN Stage 1), and has three gauges on the driver side pillar that are lit up a light reddish color. It has a 3" thermal exhaust, so it is somewhat loud. If you see this car or have seen in from 1:30am - anytime you read this, please let me know and call the police.

well i live in an apartment complex...so my car is always out in the open. My guess is that they probably broke in my window and stole it from there. My roommates 07 civic si was broken into as well, but his wasnt stolen.
Looks like the thief was eyeing out hondas.

you cant really hotwire an rsx so im just wondering how exactly it was stolen

I always thought if you have no key for the rsx, you cant start it, cause of the transponder. So how did they steal it?

if you have the resources, you can always tow a car away or put it on a truck.
That's probably the easiest low-budget way to steal an RSX.

Yes, you could do that. But at an apartment complex? Someone is bound to see something. Only a dumbass would steal the car like that.

I've heard stories of dudes stealing the towing equipment at local dealerships and using that to steal cars in broad daylight. People just assume it's the dealer taking the car in for service at the owner's request.
i have kpro...so the immobilizer is disabled

it is quite possible. My roommates car was broken into as well, so right now I am only assuming that they were targeting hondas b/c there is also an evo MR and a Lexus IS300 on the lot as well.

You should cruise the city/town.
SmokeyDaBear82
04-15-2007, 03:32 PM
well this is the way it went down...someone called the popo saying that my roommates civic si was broken into. I told my roommate, we both went outside with the officer. As soon as I went outside, that is when i noticed that my car was missing. I gave all of my info to the popo, gave him a picture of my car and he went on his way. At that point, i was not very optimistic that the popo would find my car, so i decided to start posting and tell all of my friends about it so that they could keep an eye out for it. Then i came on here and posted.
i think i'm gonna have my brother drive me around...man this sucks
Cleon
04-15-2007, 03:40 PM
consider it gone and start thinking about the next car, unfortunately if you don't recover it within a few days, you do, not, want, it, recovered. Cuz it'll be all f'd up to hell and you might get less from insurance if it isn't totaled.

Exactly.
Everyone with K-Pro should enable the immoblizier. Just click the damn checkbox already. No point making it easy.
However, pros will show up with either their own K-Pro (stolen from some previous car) or a tow/flatbed truck. Bye bye car.
It is a risk any time you park outside . . . and even a garage isn't hard to break into, but at least they wouldn't see your car when they were out looking.
Sorry about your car. As suggested above, it has probably been parted.

No, thats what kills me...i barely ever rag on her. I just think the thief was targeting k-series engines b/c my roommate has an 07 si, and his car was broken into, but it wasnt stolen...his isnt modded at all.
Jeff Evans tuned my car, so i highly doubt that he would have anything to do with it. I can't really think of anyone that would have it out for me. I get along with pretty much everyone that I meet.

listen, i've been through this thing before with a previous integra.
and *if* and from speaking with the cops about it, it's a big if...
get rid of it after its found, it will never be the same, it wont drive the same, it wont sound the same, it wont feel the same.
they found my car about 2-3 miles away from my apartment, it was sitting on the rotors and they had to drag it across the pavement to get onto the flatbed.
about 2 grand worth of stereo equipment was taken as well.
pieces of the car were all around. they took my ray bans, and they even took the fucking loose change out of the ashtray.
i'll admit, i shed a tear. i loved that car.
they are nothing but animals. any car thief. fucking with another mans pride and joy is just low and cowardly. if anyone reading this thread has had anything to do with theft of another persons car. fuck you. i hope you burn in hell and can lick my sweaty ballsack.

no, they dont.
how much you owe on the car have nothing to do with the insurance company.
the insurance company pays you what fair market value for a used rsx-s. if you happen to owe more then that value, guess what, you are out that amount of money, and that's what gap insurance cover.
if you bought new, assumed you paid invoice for the car, if you didnt put at least 3500 dollars down, you are 99% upside down.

Honda can't accept more money than the loan on the car. You will get your equity, although the insurance MAY be able to find out how much you owe first before making you an offer, and it may be VERY close. That would be suspicious.
At least try to get a down payment for another car out of it, with the equity you have.

Yah, you can always threaten a few things if they try to screw you...lawyering up, calling the commission that regulates insurance companies in your state, etc. Likely you'll get a decent offer that pays off your loan since you said you have some equity, so you should be OK.
This is the part where it pays off to have a real insurance company instead of those "super cheapo insurencia" companies lol...

insurance company goes what these cars are selling, basically market value.
only the general public use kbb, and only reason why is they grossly overestimate car prices.
just ask yourself, when is the last time someone paid blue book for a car?
take this for example: 06 civic with 10k. http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?VehicleClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=18&YearId=2006&WebCategoryId=38&VehicleId=NC8xNy8yMDA3fDc0Ng%3d%3d&PriceType=Retail&ModelId=123&Mileage=10000&SelectionHistory=746%7c3308%7c94010%7c0%7c0%7c3079 3%7ctrue&Condition=Excellent#survey
blue book = 19k

well, it would be nice to know what went down w/ the insurance.
I had my 89 Mitsu Starion 2.6L Turbo stolen when I was in college. Found 2 hrs away w/ all the electronics gutted and a nice keying down the side. Never could prove it, but my neighbor in my dorm was involved.

keeping an eye out in IL sorry dude. Was there any glass left where your car was, or any evidence at all? Tread marks, glass, neighbors see anything?
