...Alright, so I have a small surface scratch on the door of my Type S, I nicked it with the key the other day.
I should be pretty simple to get out, but I want to fill it rather than use an abrasive if possible. I hear Scratch X is a good product, but I have yet to see in the store. I tried Pep Boys, Auto Zone, Wal Mart, K Mart, I'm sure it's around somewhere, I just have to find it. So, is Scratch X an abrasive or does it fill the scratch.
I also heard someone mention liquid glass. I have never used any of these, so if someone can post their experiences and/or recommendations, I'd appreciate it.

Alright, rate the abrasiveness of Scratch X. How would it compare to say, your standard Turtle Wax polishing compound?

i have Turtle was polishing compound and Scratch X....
I had a couple of inches of swirls on my Satin Silver and used Scratch X.. IT WORKED!!! get this product for small swirls or really REALLY small scratches... it won't do any good on deep scratches... It worked, but i'm sure there's something better... can't complain for $8.50 though...
oh, and as for polishing compound, you should only use it to take someone else's paint off of your... or, in my case i brushed up on a painted wall, used polishing compound to get most of it off..

I have a scratch too and got this Turtle Wax stuff that comes with a lipstick that fills in the scratch. I haven't used it yet, have any of you all?

I used that colored Turtle Wax + lipstick stuff on my old car...
The car was red, and I had a few big deep scratched in the car... so I filled it in with the lipstick (it's actually like a crayon)... it hides the scratches, but up close you can see them clearly.. you just see them from a few feet or if you just glance at the car..
it's ok for $12cdn...

Well, I used the Turtle Wax stuff, it's OK. If you look closely, you can definitely see it. It fills up light scratches. Maybe I can bum a few drops of paint from the dealer to mask it.

i was out driving a few weeks back, and was behind a large truck that started leaking it's load of fine crushed gravel.... got a few small chips (like, around a pinhead large)...
drove by the acura dealership and told them what happened, and they gave me a bottle of paint...
if your dealership is nice like mine, they should give you the stuff for free... hell, your buying a 32k car (cdn), the least they could do is give you a $15 bottle of colour matched paint for free :)

Wow, I didn't know its only $15. I shouldn't have bought this Turtle Wax crap. It's OK, but it doesn't fill the scratch completely and the color doesn't match too well...

Actually, the bottle of touch-up paint costs around $7...
