i raced it around 12am. i was heading home when a g35 goes next to me on a stop. i dont think much of it so i just cruised it. he kept trying to make me race him all the way to the next stop. It was gettin annoying so i decided to race him. when we took off we were even. then on my second gear i was pullin on it. by third i was ahead by a bumper. on the next stop i just cruised it home and he didnt try it again.

yea i guess but having no torque against a car that has enough for the both of you...i use to own a same color rx-8 as you that car was soo fun to drive the only thing it lacked was torque so i only liked to roll race.

kinda. just these mods: Midpipe, grounding kit, voltage stabalizer, CM clutch and i modified the stock intake.

well, you can get a 20b engine for about 4k. thats about the same price of buying a turbo kit for the rx-8 but the difference is, the 20b engine will give you FAR more power and torque and FAR more potential.

but yeah. i suppose all the components needed to do the swap and other various engine parts (including the engine) such as the turbos will run you a price of about 14k. sounds like a lot(well, it is) but if you look at the fact that you will be making around 700whp easily, weeeelllllllll. yeah, nuff said :laughing:

well, yeah. you can find them on the net. but its not like the engines are in perfect condition. there is a good chance you will have to replace parts and stuff. and that 4k is just the engine itself. but thats probably why that one guy in the link spent 20k.
the cost to do these swaps to the rx-8 can vary. anywhere from 12k-30k. may be more, may be cheaper. just depends on where you get your parts and what condtion the engine was in when you first got it.

my friends selling his rx8 now.. hes had it for a year.. its been at the dealership 10 times in that year for gay maintence.. the reliability on that bitch sucks.. ive had my tsx for almost 2 years.. hasnt even seen a dealership since i pulled it off the lot

if it had a twin turbo option it wouldnt be so bad.. but unlike honda.. mazda is willing to fix EVERYTHING that goes wrong with their cars

Well they do have a great suspension, nice interior, good looks, and a good design for functionality. If they had factory FI and about 300hp it would be a GREAT car.

I Joined clubrsx cause i help my friend with build his type s. not cause i know i can beat rsxs. from a dig he beats me and on rolling starts were literally right next to each other. he has a grip of bolt ons though and has beaten alot of cars like stage 2 srt4, type R integra, G35, 350 Z, and alot of hondas with swapped engines. hes in here too.

A stock 6 speed rx8 is faster than a stock rsx-s, not by much, but it is faster. This has been discussed over and over again, there are even videos proving it.

i Know that. ive been beaten be for by them when i was stock. im not sayin i smoked it. i just barely beat it. it could have been driver error but i dunno. all i know is that i won. pretty good since they used to beat me by a car length b 4. and just in case i didnt post this up to dis any 35's cause i like em alot. i just like rotary engines more.

i have raced 4 different stock type-s's when i had a stock rx-8 from a roll i put about 3 cars on them all. seems like the S's after like 120 they fall on their face...from a dig i was losing til about 100 though...i never seen an rx-8 run 14.6 i barely see them get out of 15's...i ran a 14.8 in mine and trapped 97 i think.

i dunno why you guys think they arnt reliable. i know that there are a couple ppl that had there engines replace but ppl over exaggerate that every rx8 is like that. personally ive had no problems with mine. also there alot of ppl out there with turbo that are close to 300 or past it.

They weighed in at a lot less. There are many 1st gen g35 sedans that hit numbers most of the coupes couldnt.

yea 8's rev a lot higher but dont hit their powerband til about 8500 rpm and by then cars are long gone. i use to own a rx-8, and if the g35 guy can drive he will definately win.

As hard as it is for me to say, the driver in the eight is that good.
i helped him get some parts.
The great part about the eight though and my favorite part about it is that u have to smash on it in order for the motor to stay healthy.
