Mitsubishi put in a restrictor pill into the clutch line trying to keep kids from dumping the clutch and killing the t-case. Well they still dump it, and that burns the clutch since the engagement is lazy. The ones that take out the pill usually get their clutch to last longer, but then their t-cases are blowing up due to all the crazy stress that is now put on them from hard launches.

But for an evo to have engine problems? LOL almost no such thing. Those things are bulletproof and gain insane power from simple bolt ons and tune.

And just for the record, the comparison I was referring to was between an rsx and regular sohc civic, not an Si.

evo is a great car and only people not knowing what their talking about thinks its unreliable. the tcase goes from people popping the clutch and sending all that power to the rear diff at once, this includes lauching and spirited driving. the proper way is to slip clutch, it burns clutch but an upgrade works wonders. the tranny grinds a bit, but its far better that the type s tranny. the evo is its own car, been out since early 90's, and has more praise from critics than any honda possibly

Torrie from unleashed tuning has one and he's currently running on a pump gas tune making 9xx hp to the wheels. This guy named Joe used to have one and was the guinea pig for stage 6 motorsports (watch Joe's TT GT by imvfilms) for their TT kit for the GT. He ended up making like 1500 whp on C16 before breaking the stock crank. That car has since been sold and I think Joe is now into boats, but Torrie has had his for a long time and runs around 1100whp on race gas. From what I'm told riding in it severely disappoints you in ANYTHING else you ever drive again. It throws you in the back of the seat at 160mph.
