Just got back from a few runs with my buddy dan(dc5typeslow) we raced six different times.

We went from all sorts of speeds. And everytime I would pull ahead through third and fourth and he would pull back in 5th and than I would pull ahead when I would go to 5th.

you being a subie owner, what the huge difference in the sti over the wrx, other than displacement, turbo, and intercooler

b/c i see wrx respond nicely to mods

there REALLY isnt much...my 07 comes with 2.5L so the displacement is the same. the wrx actually responds to mods BETTER than an sti, but only at the 350whp and below stage, since its compression ratio is a little higher. the turbo is different but sti turbos are a dime a dozen and easy as hell to install, as well as their intercoolers. the two things the sti has over the wrx imo are: brakes and tranny. the most important would be tranny, as the wrx tranny is the weakest link in this car. the 07 brakes are really good, almost as good as sti brakes, so no worries there. i swapped a whole sti interior into my wrx so thats also great. with my mods i shit on stock and stage 2 sti's easily, as well as small turbo sti's such as 18g and 20g, with not good tuning. overall i love my car to death and at this point really wouldnt want anything better that much, though im already quite used to the power and am wanting more:love:

really? wow...for a while there we were also VERY sad at how shitty the car felt/pulled, but once we got it to boost properly by fixing a torn vacuum hose going to the wga and shortening the wga arm, it pulls HARD!!! with the mbc....
bren tuned it, and once again did a helluva job, with me helping with the datalogs and what not.
he's got some sort of sputtering due to messed up spark plugs, but taht should be worked out soon as well....
but i tell ya, we have it set to spike to 20, and then taper to 17 towards redline, and that thing PULLS:love:
i mean, it starts to build major boost by 3800 and is fully spooled and pulling at 4500, and boy does it....it pushes you back in your seat like my 18g could only dream of :mam:
however, when he wasnt running right i walked him like a little punk bitch, he was surprised...now that he has it all worked out and much more powerful, we are about the same with him slightly starting to creep away after 110 or so, since his power is much more peaky and at high rpm, while mine is all over the place and very smooth

tell your friend not to worry, shoot a pm to bren and hell have that thing running like a champ, for a very good price:thumbsup:

Exhaust does very little and the cone style filter hurts the Evo. The car is basically stock in my eyes. Evo mods are practically useless without a custom tune.
