Stage 2 STi vs Stage 2+ SRT4

Hey guys,

Had an encounter yesterday with a friend of mine. We were all cruising down SA a bentley continental GT, a cammed Evo 9, and a 2 SRT4's one of which had a good amount of parts and some tuning done.

The Cars: my Ride---- Stage 2 STi vs Stage 2 SRT4--- AGP Wastegate, intake, boost controller, bigger FMIC, and I don't remember what ecu but I believe his SRT4 had a stage 2 ecu.

The only run we did was a 60mph roll and by 110mph I was up by about 1 car length and it stayed there. I was on pump gas so I think I did pretty well against a pretty quick SRT4 from what I hear. OH and later that night I got my ass handed to me by that bentley in the top end runs.

So it was a top end run so I can keep the opposition satisfied and their are NO excuses. The lower the speeds go I would of taken him by even more cars. ;)

Corey? it doesn't ring a bell... sorry I'm bad with names. Well, SRT4's are quick but definitely not unbeatable as I have beaten a few and I've lost to only one and that was an SRT4 Stage 3 with meth injection he pulled 2 cars on me and I was on the race gas map.:dontknow:

Good run...don't get too caught up on the stage thing though. I've seen Stage 2 SRT's that run just as fast as stock ones. I'm stage 0 and I put half a car on a VF34, full bolt on, Stage 2 with a tune WRX (non STI) from a roll. (300whp). It's actually pretty well known that the stock srt ecu is actually preferred for tuning on stock turbo due to it's timing tables.

What "supporting mods" do you have. My buddies swapped Rs with obviously the sti drivetrain put down 336 whp and 355 ft/lbs on pump gas with basic bolt ons and a tune.

Evo 8 that runs low 12 and traps above 110mph... only takes filter, turboback, custom tune, cams, manual boost controller, and lower IC piping. Minor bolt on affair.

And what makes it even funnier is when the car mentioned is of a different platform. If your FWD car only "keeps up" with a AWD car from a roll chances are you would get sh*tted on from a dig. This in turn means that if a AWD car runs 12.2 and you can only "keep up from a roll" you probably couldn't run a 12.2 if your life depended on it from a dig, and that is granted he can drive i.e. launch which it seems he cannot since the OP said he sticks with him from a dig as well...

The proof he provided are Dyno #'s, and clearly stated that he ran dead even from a roll against a 113+mph trap EVO 8. Chance's are, he will run anywhere in that range in the 1/4mile or should in his car.

I mean he could suck at driving and all but if he kept up with a EVO that runs 195mph in the 1/4mile from a roll 10/10times, chances are you will trap anywhere or close to it. :laughing: doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

He's not about rocking a sticker so they said he only has to put one on when he goes to a track event. Not a bad trade off. They also said that's the highest stock turbo and intercooler dyno they've heard of. I guess a lot of the small things eventually add up.

Did you miss the vid of vlad beating him? If the other guy is putting down a real 650 hp then no way will he loose. We'll hear tuning issues but for all the talk he throws down I won't be impressed until I see an impressive vid. I'm not knocking his knowledge, just on how fast he claims his car is.

no I didnt, that is with his ecu not tuned. He was makin about the same power if I recall correctly as this guy on his last set up. Unless my memory serves me wrong then well....lol whoops? hah. Im going to give him the benifit of the doubt on this one. I think his car is what he claims but he changes his set up quite often that we caught him inbetween set ups.

my car can hold its own, i have beaten numerous bolton evo's / sti's and would go as far as being pretty confident its low 12's capable with good launch/shifting on piss 91oct....i think its ok.....

I love my flywheel! It makes driving the car way more fun. It revs faster and is more responsive. I highly recomend a mild clutch/lightweight flywheel upgrade. :)
