nope...stock for stock the rsx is a bit faster, and mod for mod rsx responds better....

I have both a 01 Celi GT and a 05 Type-S and the GT doesn't hold a flame to the S. Also I'm pretty sure a GT is only 140hp cause it shares the 1zz-fe engine with the 01-05 Corolla's.

nope, they all had 180hp.....however, the 00's and 01's had a higher rev limiter set at like 8200 alowing them to stay in their powerband much better....the newer ones were limited at like 7900, RIGHT at redline, which was a pain in the ass and when you'd shift you'd go out of vvtli and itd be that much slower....my buddy had one, pissed him off...

Why do most people here compare the type-s to the GT. Shouldn't that be compared to the GT-S.

GT is 140, and all years of the GTS are 180 the extra 300 rpms in the first two years are too neglibable to make any real difference.

Base RSX is a hair faster than the GT and a 02-04 type s is only a hair faster than the GTS due to the celica being a little bit lighter. Yes RSX's respond better to mods but stock for stock they are about as even as it gets

I respect the 2zz-GTE motor, and now they have cams out for the 2zz where it may even still be a drivers race between the Celica GT-S and the DC5-S. I loved Power FC in my GT-S...the only thing I hated about mine was the gearing was so close. I got use to hit, but when I got my DC5 I was like hey, room for error. Just remember this a 00-01 Power Fc'd GT-S is no joke...cai/ported stock header/decent exhaust, and street tuned vs. cai/rh/eh/kpro (depending on the year) will be drivers race.:)

02's were also cable throttle but had a 7800 rpm limiter, but pfc works on them also.

also the stock rev limiter was 8350 not 8200 and with pfc you can set the rev limiter to whatever you want

you sure? it's been awhile I swore they rev to 8200...eh it's one of those mornings in the office:( I usually reved to 8600...there was no point of me taking it higher lol...well I take that back I did go through a phase taking higher than 8600 but eh what the hell...

You are right about the 02's...but I wasn't to happy with the 02's at all just for that 7900rpm rev.

in that the larger pre-high cam power drop off coupled with the already putrid low end makes the cam crossover seem much more intense, then sure..lift feels faster, but i-vtec is a way better system, the rsx's torque curve is far superior, but i think both do pretty well when tuned w/ kpro or powerfc

I drove my friend's Intake, Unbolted exhaust, powerFC 01 GTS and it's pretty quick from a roll. Took out a 05 Scion-TC with I/H/E by like 4-5cars from a roll, and a stock ION Redline by half-car to 1car lengh.

I love the sound of Lift, when it changes over. Has a different sound than nissan's CVTC, or Honda's VTEC

the 4speed auto makes it slow and lift on the 2ZZ isn't as sexy as when VTEC kicks in on a K20. The GT-S with a 6speed is the only way to go.

brother had an 00 GT-S celica, and I gotta admit that was a fun little car, the VVTL-i was great and with that 6-speed it was always where you wanted it, in lift, and he had strapped on the TRD exhaust and that thing sounded MEAN. . . now he drives a I4 Tiburon:rotfl:

the lift transition was awesome fun, but I like the smoother transition of the VTECs, just because I dont wanna know whatll happen when that cam kicks over in the middle of a corner that youre taking a little too hard, caught by surprise, and of you go

havent taken it to the strip yet. Just got done doing some tuning with the piggy back over the weekend.

My mods are limited to the charger and an SRI. Put down 218.75whp. Nothing special but with my limited mods i can move that number up quite a bit.
