Meth Evo 9 vs STAGE 2 + STi vs Cammed Evo8

Hey guys,

I was in A town... ( Austin ) over the weekend and I got to hangout with some of the MZM Evo's out there. I know a couple of friends in the area so they decided to join me and my subbie "gang" over the weekend. And during night time we went "cruising" in the streets of A town.

The cars mods: 2006 Evo 9 with intake, downpipe, exhaust, fuel pump, aquamist meth kit, and GSC I/E cams.

2004 Evo 8: intake, downpipe, exhaust, fuel pump, HKS 280 cams, and flywheel, etc....etc...

My Car 05 STi: intake, downpipe, exhaust, fuel pump, UTEC EM, upgraded TMIC, P&P headers, TIC Crosspipe, and that's about it. Oh and I was running race gas against these evo's.

1st Run: Ev0 9 vs My STi: 60mph punch to 110mph b/c of traffic I pulled a half a car on his booty.

2nd Run: 50mph punch to 120mph we were DEAD EVEN!!!!


2nd Car: 1st Run-----Cammed Evo 8 vs My STi: 50mph punch to 120mph I pulled 2 cars on the bad boy.

2nd Run----- 60mph punch to 110mph I pulled 2 cars once again on him.


And later that night when we got closer to SA at 2am in the morning we got instigated by a 2003 mach 1 blue with unknown mods but it sounded mean. We were cruising at 70mph and so I just dropped it into 5th gear after the Mach1 went before me and I stayed on his ass the whole time till 120mph.

whats wrong with that? me and my buddies sometimes go from rolls as well, we both can launch our cars, but end up getting the same launch anyways, and prefer to save the clutch and not put as much stress on our trannies if we dont have to

you've got yourself a nice little setup there. i always ask and never seem to get a straight answer: what difference in power and overall feel of the car did the pnp headers and cross pipe do? better spool? smoother power? what......

lol doesn't take much for them to go mid 12's. Considering they do low low low 13's stock.

Nice runs. How much power do you make? Track times?

My STi puts down 325whp and 375wtrq at 22psi with race gas. I don't know what times at the track, but with an EXCELLENT driver I'd say low 12's and trap in the 111-112mph range.

That explains why the Mach didn't pull away. 325 RWHP is decent for a bolt-on only Mach, max being around 340.

I cant see a IX losing to your Sti with the posted Mods if the EVo has a good tune with decent boost. Just my opinion. I've ran several sti's with more mods and Won. I dont have meth, I run race gas, No cams either.

I think you have a fantastic tune. B/c I've ran Evo 9 with bolt ons on pump and cams and I won and I've also ran some with meth and I've won.
