View Full Version : 02 Rsx-s Vs. 07 Rdx Turbo

My friend and I raced my type s against his brand new RDX turbo (well its his moms.)
We raced a total of 4 times. 2 times from a dig, and 2 times from a roll. We both had 1 passenger. I have to say the rdx is a pretty fast little SUV... BUT not fast enough.
He didn't win a race. My type s is stock except for my injen sri. From the dig, he stood no chance I beat him by at least a car and a half probably 2 though. He was shifting with the paddles on the steering wheel.
From a roll it was a little different. The first race from about a 25mph roll. This was the closest race, he was a right at my tail the whole race, beat him only by about half my car. The second roll was from 35mph and I beat him by a car!

That RDX would actually have performed even better if it was not brand new and if a driver well accustomed to driving it were driving too.

He was holding the rpms right where the turbo was at full boost. I'm not exactly sure what break boosting is.

I agree. Although the kid is a pretty damn good driver. The car needs time to break in, and he could've used more time to break down racing it too. :o

When I first got my s I pulled up next to this forester, and instigated a race. Bus lengths is right. When he finally slowed down and I caught up, I rolled down my window and asked. So thats not stock is it? He grinned and was like no I have done a little turbo work. :o

yeah my buddy has an 06 sti with a lot of work done, probably around 375-400whp and he is getting the fp green turbo. so his 07 forester is getting the stock sti turbo, which is the only difference between the 2 motors. so he will have a beast sti and a 13 sec daddy mobile.

i driven the rdx, its actually pretty quick for a mini suv.. And with the paddle shifting, i thought it most def. would have beat you... I don't think the kid knew how to shift right... i think a stock type s would win slightly over a stock rdx.. 0-60, the rdx was rated somewhere around 6.5 or 6.6... So, its not much slower.... I love the turbo spool noise tho...

btw, throw the hondata reflash, bigger exhaust, custom front mount, and maybe an intake.. You would be toast man....

You can get the SS in 2WD and AWD. The 2WD is worth a few thenths and a few MPH in the 1/4. For what its worth my 2WD traped 102. Pretty quick for 4600LBS

i can agree. Gf's RDX feels a lot faster and more torque than it was when it was new.
Paddleshifters dont change shit, if anything, shift slower. Keep it in full automatic.
PS. take it to the track plz

haha it was just more like we are both out crusing, so why not? The kid is my roommate. No need to neg rep and then not leave your name. cough* cough cstrike. Whats wrong, did you stay up too late roaming the servers killing terrorists?I'm going to go premie just for this reason.
Although i do agree 03dsm racing should be done on a track, it not always going to be that way, but its best and safest.
