I don't think a ~3500lb car (not counting driver) with ~300 whp is doing 12's unless its on slicks.

Edit: Maybe not slicks but definitely some kind of tire upgrade and a well prepped track. Anyway point is that mid 13's are the norm for a stock Z28.

The only thing I am arguing with you is what defines a car as an X-second car. My position that it is the average case while you are saying it is the best case. All I'm saying is that since best case varies dependent upon many uncontrollable factors, the average case is more accurate when applying it to all cars of that particular make/year/model.

actually, most of the quickest stock C5 vettes/GTOs/F-bodies are A4s....

the GM 4L60E/4L65E is FAR superior to anything Ford put in the mustang until the 5R55E 5-speed in the 05 and up cars.

all stock, the automatic cars are usually very close to the stick cars in terms of 1/4 mile ET, though with a lower trap speed obviously....

yea mine had them in it.....


I still went in the 12s with that car though with just a 3200 stall and headers. the 3.42 swap really woke it up though....

one guy went 12.37 @ 113 with an '02 WS6....only mods were a loudmouth, lid, drag radials and no front swaybar.

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen him do it in person.

he ran it 13.60 bone stock.

he had an older formula before that had the lt in it and went 14.3 . . . then he did a rear mount turbo and ran 14.4 because he went on street tires.

98 formula would have still been an ls1 and ran similar times to the 02.

the drop top is more rare i believe. his formula was t tops and he always had them off so the convertible works for him i guess.
on air bags.
he can dump it straight to the ground.

he has many trophies to back up why he has airbags on that car.

the way i look at the airbags are. . . if you cant get over a bump . . lift it up.
especially where we live. its nice to be able to go up and down.
