RSX vs RDX

My mom just got an RDX, are these things even fast? Ive been seeing 1/4 mile times as low as 14.8/14.9 for RDX's online, and I think the Acura published time of 15.2 is the same as the RSX-S (at least the '02-'04). Could this thing conceivably keep up with me? Comparing it to my dads X5 it's definitely faster, but both are heavy, automatic, and not incredibly responsive right off the bat. I can't imagine it could keep up with my car, at least not w/ the reflash.

haha...well, that depends who's behind the wheel. if its my mom (the owner), the turbo won't even spool up. slowest driver ever haha...I told her to get a reflash when I got mine done but she seemed more interested in the cup holders in the car than the engine...

I think it can hold .82 lateral gs around a skidpad, which is higher than the WRX's .79. So at the very least it can kind of handle pretty well, interestingly enough. It honestly is a good X3-fighter, but nobody buys RDXs when they can afford X3s because of the badge alone. If I had to get any SUV/CUV I'd buy an RDX. I took one for a test drive and it's a sporty enough car. Straight line accel isn't fantastic, but it's quick enough. Could it beat a stock RSX Type-S? Probably not from a dig if it lasts much over 60, from a roll I'd imagine it's even worse for the RDX. Now, if you get it reflashed... this is a different story, hilariously enough.

no way, that X5 is slow as shit...i drive it fairly regularly. And the RDX = stock, Even if it ran Acura's claimed 15.2 or lower, I'd still have it (not by much, but definitely wouldn't lose).

and no, im not serioulsy going to race my mom lol. Was just wondering if it's worth me taking it to the drag track or not :dontknow:

yeah my mom's 03' X5 is slow as shit. Sure.. its fun to drive.. its a beemer... but its still slow as shit, not to mention all the gas it guzzles

x5s may feel slow but the models with the big engine are actually a lot faster than you think

Your moms X5 is probobly a 3.0L by the sound of things. The 4.4, 4.6, 4.8L V8's are pretty fast.

RDX vs Stock RSX-S is a drivers race. The RSX-S should pull up top though. RDX has the advantage in the low end.

yeah the 4.4 and 4.8 X5's haul ass. the 3.0 is hugely underpowered with only 240 or 260 hp or something like that, the car is VERY heavy like most german cars

rdx is pretty quick honestly... I drive it on a daily basis for 8 months..

Stock for stock, the rsx should win. But if that rdx had a reflash done(which hondata/church auto makes), its hard to say. People that have done a reflash to the rdx have managed to make around ~250awhp ~280tq which is pretty damn good for such a simple upgrade. Throw an intake and exhaust on top of that, youll see even more power. Probably around another 20whp AT LEAST.

But yeah, take into consideration that the rdx is awd and has more tq so its going to have a time such as a 14.8 on the 1/4 for the power its making. If youre seriously going to race your mom....do it from a roll.

again, this race will likely NOT happen, i was just WONDERING how fast the thing was. My dad comes to watch me drag at the track sometimes, so I'm gonna try to convince him to bring my moms car and drag it sometime. I cant see how he doesnt wanna try it after watching me, its alot of fun even if you arent in a sports car and even if youre old...im sure he'll be boring and say no though
