I'm looking for a good car care product sold around here to clean the dash and door panels. Other than vinylex ( I can't find it around here ), is there a product anyone can recommend ?

Thanks

i totally forget the name - BUT it's sold at zellers and it's expensive

called 'formula 301' or something like that....it's in a purple bottle.

It's like armor all.....except a WAY lot better.

I'm surprised you're suggesting Armorall as your dash will be prone to cracks in the long run.

Armor-All IS the Devil.
Wipes, sprays, washes... if it's got a picture of that nasty gnome on it, I deem it fit for firing up the kindling in my bbq.

I'm hearing more and more about 303 Aerospace. It's worth a try if you can't get Vinylex.

I heard that armorall has dangerous silcons in it that causes long term cracking and sometimes eats your dash board over time..... i use to have it on my 2000 ford truck and it started to eat some of the dash up...so i stoped using it.....on my rsx i be damn if i use that shit...there right..dont use it..ITS the DEVIL!!

I used armorall for the first... 6 months or so with the car, about 2 or 3 times. My dash has subtle crackles in it now, I don't know if that was the cause, but once I read on here about its crapness, I quickly gave that away to a lesser-than-friendly-friend and got vinylex. It works great. To be honest, both products look, drip, and smell the same.

do not use armor all, the statements about cracking is true...i personally use Meguiars Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner...it lasts for several weeks, its not oily and it only costs 9 bucks

Armor All leaves lint behind and smears smudge all over

I've been using vinylex ever since I read about armor all online, or about a year now.

I have a little bottle of armorall wipes as well as a half full bottle of armor all spray. What should I do with it?

Actually, if you are like me, you have 10 products that you use, and another 90 that are only barely used but you don't use them because you found better stuff. I don't know what to do with my rack of less than great car cleaning products.

is it flamable? If yes, I think you know what to do with it...

"Help" out your "friends" with a smooth line like "Hey man, you want me to detail your car? You've seen how nice mine is. Only $50 for a pro-job".

Get paid to use up your crap! :D

Well I decided to try something different this weekend...and I wiped down the ENTIRE inside (except for the ceiling and carpet) of my car with Z10 (zaino's leather conditioner). It may not be the ideal product to use on the vinyl parts, but I'm very pleased with the result and the spf can't hurt. The plain black portions of the dash are shiny, but not too, and the flat areas around the stereo look much richer. Worked great on the puckered part as well, there were just a few fuzzies from the applicator pad to pull off.

i do that also - after doing the seats, take the dampened cloth and go everywhere else . . . add very little to the cloth as you go - vinyl doesnt absorb . . .

It looks like a normal bottle of cleaning solution for your bathroom or sink. It is a white bottle, and the stuff is awesome.

hm.... top surface of the dash is very bumpy, you know. Once I tried to vaccum and it easily made a little scratch on it, so I just took my car to dealer for cleaning. They did it for free. However, I guess vinylex works on that bumpy dash, huh?

Can you use vinylex on the whole door including the inserts around the door handle? Also is it safe to use it on the entire dash including that textured surface? Thank you for your time and help.
