Kayak and roof rack

I just recently started kayaking and I love it. The only problem is that I have to rely on a roomate with a truck to take me to the water. Ive seen other roof racks, but do you think that a rack as small as the ones to fit our cars would work?

any other suggestions?

but my old roommate put his 12 ft kayak on top of his honda accord... If you use tow straps i believe you can secure it reasonably

yakima rook rack and tow straps should do the trick...or just a thick towel on your roof and straps for the front/back the the kayak

yakima roof rack with the extension kit so that itll spread the bars farther apart...
