I am planning to smoke out someone's tail light soon. I did this to my car a while back but took it off because the clear coat made it into more of a flat color and it wasnt glossy. Did i put too many coats? (10 coats...) I used testors high gloss for hobby models.
What kind of clearcoat did everyone use here that gave you the closest result to stock? How many coats did you use? And also what kind of paint did you use to tint your lights? The only ones i could find was the model tint, and one i found at a car shop which costs 30$ for 1 can.:nervous:

Anyways thanks for any help. Give me some tips.:wavey:

yea use tinted vinyl. The clearcoat will get dull. there is no stopping it.

I tried vinyl and I cant do it without the wrinkles.
Where do you get tinted vinyl from besides hobby stores?
Could i use window tint they have at pep boys?

Anyways, for those who used clearcoat and got a stock appreance..which brand did you use and how many coats?
