Can anyone help me figure out how to make the high beams flash when the alarm goes off instead of the low beams? The reason i want to do this is because i have HID's in my low's and to avoid strain on the ballast, i dont want them flashing with the alarm. All advise is much appreciated.

as far as I remember, your running lights are the ones that flash, not the high or low beams...just the running light above the lowbeams...
hope that helps..

you can check and make sure by setting your alarm off and then posting the results here.

I gave you the wire codes in this thread:

and the low beams do flash if your alarm goes off.

Has anyone had a problem with their HID's after the alarm goes off?

Mine went off once for like 5 minutes. Just on/off for that entire duration. I didn't have access to my remote. No damage to the ballast, but it's not something that should be done often.

allright figured this one out with the help of TrustRSX. You were on the money man. I cut both wires: Blue/red and blue and now no lights flash at all, which i dont really mind that much. However, i am trying to get at least the parking lights to flash. I'll play around with it later. I also installed the shock sensor- i highly recommend that.

why did you cut the wires?!?! I hope you can at least tape it back together. I looked in the manual, and it appears that the blue wire will light up the parking lights/dash. Sorry about that.

I'm glad that worked out. Can you also tell if the wire can be taken out of the plug? I'm too lazy to go out to the car and look. I'd rather not cut my wires. :D
I'm also search for a solution to the low beams being when all the lights are off and using the passing switch. I believe the solution lies in the combination switch at the steering wheel. The electrical diagram gave me a headache, and it looks like there is no other way around the circuit.

dont bother takin the wire out of the plug, because you wont be able to put it back in. Trust me, i bypassed my bose amp and had to deal with a similar situation. Just cut the wires. You can always reattach them. Its much easier.
