best pic i have

its just the stock shiftboot ring that comes with the JDM boot held up with some tape underneath it on teh actual shifter lever, and a reverse lock nut under the knob to align it properly

(BIG pic)

I don't really dig on having the boot come all the way up to the shifter, expecially on the type R shift knob.

krisen's looks excelent, but i like a little gap between my knob and boot, so i can see the shifter.

i added another pic below...

from what i understand the adapter is a CRSX exclusive, but im sure if you send Chris a message with a $5 or $10 offer, he'd get you one.

all it is is a ring with snaps, that the silver collar snaps to. ( i didn't use the nut )

as far as getting rid of my silver collar... i had it at first. IT LOOKED RETARDED. its like an alluminum knob with a fake ass plastic silver painted collar. so i modded it a little.

I took the collar and boot off...

drilled a couple holes in each side of the silver collar @ the top...

turn the shift boot inside out... made little holes in it at the top to match the collar...

slid the collar down in the middle of the top of the shift boot...

and just zip tied the boot through the inside of the collar... (if you do this make sure the chunky part of the zip tie is inside the collar, so it doesn't make a fault in the shift boot)

then flip the shift boot back out... leather out, now the collar is flush with the leather. no more fake plastic silver shit :)

flame if you want - just don't like the look of the collar.

Quick question. My knob didn't come with the nut. Was just curious if anyone happen to know the size of the nut so I might be able to pick one up at Lowes possibly. Thanks for the help!

i could use this info as well. so if you put your knob on, the gear map doesnt face the correct direction, right?

Yup. I think I'll head to Lowes just buy a shit load of nuts( :finger: get your mind out of the gutter) and see what fits then I'll post what size is needed.

I have the B&M SS also, and I couldn't get the nut to fit on the shifter. I just screwed down the knob as far as it could go. How many of you have second degree burns on your right palm from shifting on a hot sunny day because of the type r knob?

Damn, right I do. LOL

After my car sits in the sun for the 8 hours I work, that knob roasts then burns the crap out of me.

Haha really? Damn, I just bought the Acura aluminium one, and i live in the Bahamas, and it gets really hot in my car! Shit, I'll just have to take a rag and put it over the knob, will that work?

Or you can call up the parts section of your dealer and ask whats the size of the nut!

i dont think he will sell it separately. i asked when before i installed my shift knob.

i ended up using the stock silver adapter upside down. i turned out nice...i think i even like it better.
