I'm getting ready to get the JDM valve cover.. Do I need to get any kind of gaskets or anything else, or is this just bolt on ready to go?

You will need some honda bond and a new gasket.Depending on how long you have had the car you may not need a new gasket.I have re-used an old one before with no problems. However i recommend the hondabond.

I've only had my car a year, it has 20k miles.

Go to the dealer and get a new gasket set, and some hondabond. You won't need much of the honda bond. It's better safe than sorry.

i reused my gasket and i had 32k in miles
i just wiped the old gasket down and then put it in the JDM valve cover

make sure you pick up hondabond though and put it in the spots that the helms manual recommends
you will only need like 4 little dabs of it

there already is a DIY in Performance and Tech

its an easy install -- just get the helms manual and it explains taking it off and putting the new one on very clearly
just watch when you torque down the valve cover bolts - they snap easily

hondabond SUCKS. but only cuz it works so well, lol. we had to scrape that shit off of my oil pan when we were replacing it. plus it was a bitch to get the oil pan off. screw hondabond in the face hole for being so damn effective. :p

You need the Dealer Manual on CD, I have one if you're interested. I have the JDM valve cover also. Now, what do with the old valve cover? Anyone have an idea? Should I DIY paint and it, sell it, or sell it, or garbage?

You can easily sell it or just save it if you ever trade the car in.

just go to ur local acura dealer and get a k20a2 valve cover gasket. it will fit onto the jdm one. just to be onthe safe side, its like 10 bucks.
