Criticism welcome ;)

I don't take a lot of pictures but this lizard was being very calm so I went and grabbed my dads camera (D70) and snapped some pics.

After a quick review, this was the best shot of the group so I messed with the NEF in photoshop (haven't had any instruction on photo-taking/editing really, so bare with me)...

This is what I came up with:

I'll mess with the other photo's later, I just don't feel like being on my laptop right now, and don't have PS on this machine.

Lizard was probably 7 inches long, and looks like its prego. So It really surprised me when it was so nice. Most lizards are bitches when they are expecting :p

The depth of focus is good. You're suffering from camera shake or too low of a shutter speed.

At 70mm and 1/160 shutter speed and f/8, I don't think camera shake is the issue.
I believe focus may be on the wall and not the lizard.

yeah, since it's close/macro, narrow the aperture to f/13 or more.

To change the aperture, There is a dial directly in front of the silver button, moving it to the right makes the numbers higher (narrower aperture) and to the left causes the opposite. Dial on the back is shutter speed.

I'm in the same boat as you, I take pics with my dads D70 once in a while. Trying to get better.
