how do you guys make the hood or the doors appear transparent?

open the hood... take a picture... make sure you don't move the camera at all. best if you use the camera on a tripod with a remote control.

close the hood... take a picture

lay the two images over each other in photoshop (make sure the closed hood is the top layer).

start erasing the hood with something like 30% strength


ALTERNATIVE:

have someone build you a custom clear plastic hood

i saw a magazine back in the F&F days that had clear plastic hoods to buy. They came in similar transparent colors to match cars

I remember that. I also remember thinking that's exactly what I need: people looking at my filthy engine bay! LOL. Showcars only I guess. Those things couldn't have been too strong.
