: S2000 or bike
vtec407 04-25-2008, 10:01 AM I plan on buying either an '08 S2000 or a Ninja250R this summer as my next toy. Which do you guys think would be the better purchase? The bike is obviously cheaper, but they S2 is definitely faster and handles like a bike anyway.
majestic 04-25-2008, 10:10 AM wow dude thats like a 30k price difference lol
The Mack 04-25-2008, 10:12 AM how about you compare apples to apples.
not apples to oceans
White_02 04-25-2008, 11:10 AM Handles like a bike, eh?
The Mack 04-25-2008, 11:13 AM faster then a bike too? :(
inmys2k 04-25-2008, 04:04 PM with your logical thinking skills, the best option would be to forget those two and get a ferrari.
S2000
Handles like a motorcycle.

you may outgrow the 250 pretty quick (year). Will you be tracking the bike?

yes, he will outgrow the 250. But if you get a 600 then you will crash.
So, either get a 250 and learn safe driving technique and then trade up, or buy a 600 and crash. You choose.

pretty dumb statement. I started with a 96 Zx9 when i was 17 and didn't crash shit....it depends on the person as well.

Bike are dangerous, be careful "tossing it around the street"
[theynvdc5] 04-26-2008, 11:54 AM dont waste your time on a 250
in this case i would go with the s2 most def.
ep_kevin 04-27-2008, 12:01 AM nah, just something to toss around the streets
You will be bored super quick. I rode for a year and after that I was looking for more out of my 600 yzf.
s2000 and the 250 are about the same when it comes to quickness. The 250 will dive under once you get around 80mph.
dc5jimbo 04-27-2008, 12:07 AM s2k imo
Renovatio 10-23-2008, 08:23 PM Dont waste your time on a 250 imo. Get a 600. Stay Honda and get a CBR!!!! :D
Renovatio 10-23-2008, 08:34 PM Indeed, I've looked through almost all the threads in the s2k section.
This is what sitting in class does to you...
coffee:
S2000, bike is not for me..
ekim1 10-23-2008, 09:45 PM if you want to just go fast get an S2000...
if you're looking for something different to learn to do then get the bike...and yes to the guy above...after 80mph you're effed....bike won't move....and if you're a heavy guy, shoot....even getting to 80 will be a trip
BD2002 10-23-2008, 09:51 PM interesting comparison, but an S2K for sure
Renovatio 10-23-2008, 11:05 PM can you knee drag in an s2k?? lol
abcdcamp 11-01-2008, 12:11 PM totally different comparison... get a used s2000 + 250R better yet used s2000+zx6 or cbr 600
PsykotiK 11-01-2008, 02:20 PM get both
crxracer 11-24-2008, 06:09 PM the girl like s-2000 ride is a godd avantage ;-)
White_02 11-24-2008, 06:17 PM wat
'08S2K 12-02-2008, 01:00 AM I have an 08 S2K and an 09 Buell Firebolt XB12R, (1203 CCs!) and I barely drive my S2K at all now that I've got my bike. Honestly, it's just way more fun. Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but for pure thrills, you can't beat speeding through canyon twisties with your knee dragging on the ground. Yes, it's way more dangerous, but also way more fun.
BTW, my first two bikes were 600s and I've never been down. And being on a bike teaches you to become hyper-aware of what other drivers might do, and that carries over to your car-driving habits.
So, I suggest, if it's thrills you want, get the bike: 250, 600, whatever. Take a motorcycle safety course, get some track time in, buy some good riding gear, have fun!

i think he means that sk2=yougetpussy
superneil0414 12-02-2008, 01:02 AM i guess buy the bike and save some money!
KillaICM 12-02-2008, 01:14 AM They both sound fun, but bike would be something different.

go with an 08 S2K if you're only gona get a 250R, if maybe a Yamaha R6 or CBR600RR then go with the bike....
but then again I went from an R6, to two integra, and now the RSX-S but then miss the bike again, soooo i would say pick one for now and then get the other one later on.
For about 6 months I only had a bike and no car to get around, and when it rained or got cold its a pain to ride, but it was alllll well worth it.......b/c around the mountains and turns dragg that knee...:vtec:
