well almost every laptop has a express card or pcmcia slot on it, its mean to use card for expanding like extra usb ports or periphials. this ia a full blown sound card that you can plug into there, unable the one thats on the laptop and use that one and you will get better performance out of the laptop. it has a harness thats included that you can use to connect to those surround sound systems that are sold at every computer store. the kind like logitech and soundblaster go with this and you get true surround sound and better performance.
