Hey woot, I'm looking into getting that seibon mg style hood that u have. Would I need hood pins if I installed the PWJDM hood dampers?

I dont use hood pins on mine. I dremeled the slot where the hood latch sits.. I dremeled that oval out farther down so the hood latch would hold it down tighter. I drove it like that for over a year and a half. At like 75mph you could see the hood shake around some but I took it well over 100mph many times and it's still on so... lol. Now with the hood dampers on there, it doesn't vibrate around at all on the highway at higher speeds so all is good.

i installed it how PWJDM told me to install it with the thicker part up top... still dont know if it makes a difference. mine have worked flawlessly for a few years now.

Good deal. Could I get away with just the dampers?

having a pretty similar build to yours i wanted to reach out to you about a recent problem i ran in to. finally after more than a year i got my car on the dyno for the tune. happy to say i got 450whp at 15psi. the problem i ran into was that i started getting boost creep around 7800. i believe the solution is to upgrade my wastegate to a 60mm. is this a reasonable fix to the problem? any suggestions?

for now i will be driving it at those numbers cutting rpms at 7700 until i have some more time to get this straightened out. im pretty stoked at the outcome and feel that with the right tune without boost creep i could run near 500whp as a dd.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Who tuned your car? What psi is it creeping to? Did you make those numbers with the creep or without it? Your tuner should be able to control creep if they are using the boost control through kpro.

a local tuner that i had build the car. from what i was told it creeps to 17psi around 7900rpms. the numbers were made without the creep but quite certain it will make a lot more when i get this problem resolved and can set my redline at 9200. i'll have to check on the boost control. i read this exact problem in another thread but can't seem to find it since there are so many peak boost builds on here

So if he made 450whp on a 15psi tune that ran to redline without creeping then why not use that tune? What changed? Im confused lol. But yeah you should be able to control the creep through the duty cycle tuning and boost tables in kpro. What spring do you have in the wastegate?

I did the exact same thing on the track with slicks running 305WHP supercharged.
