I don't think there is a difference between the 06-08, but I do believe the 06-8 gained roughly 10+hp over the 04-05 if my memory is correct

No difference. There has been add ons like TPMS sensors and what not but engine wise is the same for 04-05 and a bit of added HP for the 06-08. There is no Type-S edition like the RSX or TL, closest is an ASPEC edition which is all show and the same exact engine. In conclusion, your friend is wrong and you should slap him with a trout lol.

Just wanted to clarify that there ARE differences between the 04-05 tsx k24 and the 06+, here they are:
The 06 TSX has the following improvements:

Increased intake flow:

* Intake valve + 1 mm oversize
* Intake cam High lift lobe with 0.9 mm more lift and 12 degrees more duration
* Throttle body increased from 60-64mm
* Radius on some intake pipes increased from 70-80mm

Increased exhaust flow

* Exhaust Head pipe increased from 60-65mm
* Higher flow catalytic converter
* Main (single) exhaust pipe increased from 54-57mm
* Rear (twin) pipes increased in diameter from 42.5 to 45mm

Block improvements:

* Additional air passages in crankcase for reduced pumping losses

Other

* Stronger connecting rods
* New crankshaft with more counterbalance weight
* Revised pistons with more valve-piston clearance

I know this is late but i recently found out about the tsx sub-forum. But for future people that were wondering, there actually is a difference between the 06 tsx's and the 2006-08. The 2006 tsx can be reflashed by hondata, the 07-08 cannot! just an fyi

yeah but thats because of the car and the ECU... As we just use the engine and use kpro for our swaps we don't really care about that part... the engines are still the same

Yes both are K24a2
And crankshaft part# are the same. The differences are minor. If you come across an 06+ get it though.

1.It's a tad younger
2.It has a slightly better intake cam profile. Creates a few more top end ponies.
Not a huge improvement or anything. Basically the same motor.

Yes... Mozz from K20....

As it was said on of the diferences from the 04-05 engine was "* New crankshaft with more counterbalance weight" .... i was wondering... There for this cant realy be true and the cranks have to be the same, from 04-08.

Yup your right. They are all counterbalanced. The block itself had some minor vent improvements to improve the engines cooling a tad but the engine wasn't fundamentally changed other than the intake cam profile, larger valves.
Part# for 04-06
Part# for 06-08

(13310-RBB-010)
(13310-RBB-010)

=1 or Equivalent

You have an RSX?
