Sucks I keep getting told rs3 will not be available until 2-3 months. And if they are not available then, they will be discontinued......

I have drove on both (both 255's on 9 in rim ) I prefer the Starspecs. This is why, I think they last longer, Drive way better on wet, slightly less noise. Now the RS3's do grip a bit better in the dry. But for me DD'ing on them I went and continue to go star specs if that helps you at all. I know everything has been covered but i was really kinda upset at how fast the rs3's went.

SS ought to last longer at 200 treadware; RS3 is 140 (minimum for a street tire class)

I have Nt-05's right now. They have just been my street tire. I haven't tracked them, but have done a lot of spirited driving. The grip is awesome and sidewalls are pretty stiff. I don't know how well they do with repeated heat cycling though. From most of the reviews I have read, they have slightly less grip than dunlop star specs. Here is a good on track review:

I agree that the rs3 go pretty fast especially with aggressive driving in 70+ weather but I personally think the star specs were a deeper rumble well as the rs3 are more of a whine as far as noise goes. The SS are better in the wet but from what I've tested not much but they definitely are all around better but that's why for the same size they're 200 bucks more.

Rs3 grip wayy more. Period. the only reason why they don't seem to grip as much in wet compared to SS is because the SS respond to steering input wayy faster thus giving you more confidence all around when turning. Straight traction even in wet in my experiences the rs3 outshines the SS. It's when you get into hard cornering when the SS shows its worth. I wouldn't be surprised if the rs3 only last 12-15k miles. The SS were on track to last a good 20k miles until I sold them

what's your geometry like on the fronts? i ran 235's on a 17x7 with a -2.5 camber 0 toe. wore the insides of the RE's to the cords. be aware of the soft zstar and the width ,offset and camber of the tires. let us know how it does.

You will find most tires we are using have the same lettering on both sides and therefore there is no inside or outside. Once your tires are worn 3/4 down on the inside, have them flipped inside out and get double the life out of them.

Somebody said Star Specs are expensive? They are cheap as shit, especially over there. Had Specs on the Snisen in Guam and were my daily and auto-x tire, they were a decent tire, but I missed Yoko Advans. I still dislike that Tire Rack, well Yokohama USA doesn't bring in the size I need, would love to save several hundred $. You guys should not bitch about pricing at all, 4 205/50R16 AD08s cost me approximately $1150, Star Specs in the same size about $100 less.

Street tires for 800 is pretty expensive, let alone 1000. Ive had star specs, pilot super sports, hankook rs3, re-01 and I'll spend a lot on tires but sayin 900-1000 for 4 tires is cheap is just ridiculous because it's pretty expensive, especially when you live in hot weather that lets your tires wear down even faster

^I'll probably go with star specs as my next set of tires. I made a mistake getting the Kumho XS. they grip well, but the sidewalls are so soft and makes the car feel so numb. My last set of tires were NT05's and those were an awesome street tire. The sidewalls were nice and stiff and traction was awesome as well, though I know they don't grip as well as the star specs.
