It could possibly experience reversion I believe it's called when cold air gets pulled back into the chamber in certain conditions which is not good. Basically air trying to go in through exhaust when the engine is trying to push air out.

Not likely though. Open header does increase tq typically, but doesn't always help the entire powerband. It's definitely not fun for the ears lol.
But for those who don't know, many experienced draggers run the strip open header.
