I've been thinking about it, but don't you have to be a member to run?

Yes, you have to be a NASA member.. The membership is an extra $30 and it's good for a year.. I think with the membership it ran about $320

Swwifty, how does that swaybar combo work for ya? I just took off the progress front and but the stock one back on because it was a little to tight for my taste.. The car rotates way better with just the progress rear sway.. but I was looking for another swaybar that would work better for the font..

the car turns quite well, on the track it did very well, but in autox i'm having problems with it understeering. I think I need more negative camber I'm only running -1.3 camber in the front.

Thanks for the info.. I'm more of a track whore!! : ) With both progress sways it turned in nice but from the middle of the corner all the way out it wanted to push out.. The car now is fairly neutral with the progress rear and the stock front bar.. I have 2 deg. of negative camber in front and .8 negative in the rear with 0 toe all around.. (just got it alligned last weekend) This has helped loads and if I let out of the gas when the suspension is fully loaded it will even start to oversteer a little... (very little) I really cannot say how it will do on the track yet though.. I have my crappy tires on and I've done a few things to the suspension since my last track event.. (Koni's and Tanabe underbrace) Atlanta will tell me where I need to go from here. Kind of hard and not safe to test on the steet! : )

<--- cannot wait for Atlanta!!!

I have looked into getting a bigger rear bar but I love the progress tie bar for the rear.. Not to fond of getting rid of that beafy peice.. Maybe it will work well with the other bars but havn't looked into that at all...

its basicly spec-7 without the spec suspension. suspension is pretty much free (as long as you use the oem mounting points). you can modify the oem carb a little bit too...

That sounds cool..

Do you know or can you build the Rotary's? I have a rebuild kit with new apex seals and all and have taken my current one apart but with all of the little springs and many clearances that have to be measured and in spec I kind of got a little discouraged on rebuilding it myself... and now it's sitting in peices in the garage.. I'm also not sure it the housings would even be in spec.. If not I don't even want to rebuild it because the new housings are soo expensive! I could just buy a new engine..

i stack my own 12a's. its really pretty easy once you have done 1 or 2 of em. housings are pretty easy to check, if the plating is not flaking and there is no lip around the edge they are prolly fine. most likely there will be some carbon buildup from blowby on the bump on the plug side, but thats normal. unless you ever overheated your engine the end plates are most likely in spec too, the only thing to check for is the step wear about 1/4" from the edge of the combustion chamber side. i forget the spec for that but its fairly large (maybe .01").

you can spend a shitload of money on building a fast legal motor (like 4-5k), but you can be within 5-10hp of one for around $1000. its all about how fast you wanna go.

oh yeah, and get onna these if its legal for your class:
http://www.yawpower.com/racecarb.html

i can build your motor pretty cheap if you want, there are also alot of legal things you can do to make it more reliable at high rpms. PM me...
