Say goodbye to bird droppings!

So I was brushing my teeth the other day and had an inspiration for spot-cleaning bird droppings off the car without having to rewash the entire sucker. I didn't want to use quick detailer with a towel (even a microfiber one) because of the abrasive little particles in the droppings that could scratch the paint. The best way I thought would be to hose it down gently, but what happens when you're in a parking lot or out in the boondocks somewhere with no access to a hose? or water even?

So I thought, wouldn't it be nice to have some sort of portable device that you could bring along with you in the car, that stores water in a reservoir of some sort, has a mechanism for pumping it out in a controlled stream AND comes in a variety of cool and awesome graphics? Yes, that's right, someone had already thought of it...Super Soakers!

So I ran out to my local toy store (and I don't mean Kragen, I mean Toys R' Us) and picked up a Super Soaker knockoff for about $5. Then hauled my ass over to Safeway to get some de-ionized water (very important to avoid water spots) for about $1. Sprayed some quick detailer on the droppings and let soak for about a minute. Pump-pump-pumped up the water gun and then gave that offending excrement both barrels! (yeah, it was one of those fancier ones) Got about 90% of the crap off; woulda been 100% I think had I not waited for it to dry and become encrusted (yummy, I know). Anway, now I keep the gun and water in the hatch so that next time I can blast off the doodoo when it's fresh.

And hopefully nail the bird too if I'm lucky j/k, I like birds.

Cliffs notes: Use a water gun and quick detailer to spot-clean the car of bird droppings (or whatever else) between car washes.

that's hilarious. I could've used that yesterday...friggin flying rat took a missive dump on my back windshield...i'm talkin a softball sized splatter..yeah, nasty stuff. I gotta say, that idea ain't too shabby, but i wouldn't wanna carry that thing in the back w/ my stereo equip. out of fear it would leak and soak my amp/sub

here's an addition to yer idea.

instead of a water pump pistol, use a 12g CO2 cartridge. easier to use and cheap to resupply

Meh, it'd take at least a few years and a couple thousand in loose change. I'd much rather have the satisfaction of knowing that thousands of RSXers are blasting crap off their cars while taking out a few pigeons along the way

Yeah, I'll prolly get some of that to use instead of the quick detailer. But I'll still need the Super Soaker to rinse it all away without having to use a towel to wipe it off.
