I have some questions about my 05' i wanna make it N/A fer sure but i have some questions first. i hope those of you who are more knowlageable can help me out.
first i was wondering what im gonna need to do to "prep" my car for hondata? i know that you can toy with the fuel curves and cam angles and various other things to sqeeze the most out of the k20. so with that said do i need a set of after market cams and injectors to maximize my tuning flexibility? and secondly i have been hearing a lot of mixed fact and oponion on the impact of a race header. i need my car to stay emmesions legal for quite some time so i dont think i can take out my cat, but i hear that the 05 have a very good high flow cat to begin with. so with that said i must ask another question. what route should i take when selecting (or not) a header? and how can i get my exhaust to breathe as well as possible? bore the exhaust ports of the head? one last thing. i would like to upgrade my intake track as much as possible. so i am wondering if i can get an individual throttle bodie intake manifold and one of those badass looking carbon fiber shrouds that could theorhetically be connected to my injen cai or even a hood scoop or thermeans of cold air induction. i would like to learn more indepth and comprehensively than those "beginner stickies" can you help me out.

First hondata hasn't made a reflash for the 05 yet. The previous years have hondata #4 reflash. You really don't need to "prep" the car with internal engines mods for their basic reflash. Concentrating on bolt ons is first priority.
Always keep in mind that bolt ons are a package system and need to be treated as such. Avoid Lego building. Ask yourself what are your overall horsepower goals and then choose your parts accordingly. As for the race header it's best for letting the engine breath. Even the 05 cat is restrictive. Now I plan on keeping the cat-back since it's 2.25 diameter from the Type R. Lose the cat is what is comes down to. If you must keep it just get a shorty header. But you will always be slower against a race header. Keeping your CAI "as is" is just fine. Look into an aftermarket intake maniflold gasket. Next Gear and Hondata are two brands. Next Gear is what I'm going with.

As stated there is no reflash out yet for the 05's. Stick to you basic bolt ons first.
CAI Race Header 2.5" Exhaust I would go with a race header, the gains are twice that of a shorty. Just keep your stock parts and when emissions comes around swap them back in. I made the mistake of going the shorty high flow cat route and I am regrettin it now that I have purchased cams. Also, nothing has to be done to prep for Hondata. Although I would recommend at least having the previously mentioned bolt ons to maximize your gains.

You always have the option of getting the Jackson Racing header and welding a hi-flo cat to it. The above posts pretty much state what can/should be done.
