In Memoriam of Justin Hoffman AKA Harbinger

Today, we were given news that none of us wanted to believe. One of our own, Justin Hoffman, was killed in action in Iraq. We knew him as Harbinger, one of the frequent contributors to The Bully Pulpit. I do not presume to eulogize him, but I would like to pay my respects to him, in light of the sacrifice he has made for all of us.

From our discussions, I know that he and I disagreed on almost every topic. Nevertheless, I always respected the passion with which he defended his position. There is no question that he truly believed in the cause for which he was fighting. As a United States Marine, he had the courage and the commitment to protect this nation and all of us in it, no matter what our views might be. For that, there is no end to my gratitude.

Thank you, Justin, for your courage and your sacrifice. You will be missed.

He use to post in the lounge frequently a long time ago, but then he became a more regular member to the pulpit.

Well i've had alot of buddies of mine pass on . One thing that i've come to realize is that they are gone so we can be here now . I've served with good men that have passed on .

I've never served along side Hoffman but i am assuming he was a good marine. Lets see if we can find out an address to where maybe we can send his mother some flowers or maybe even a sympathy letter . I'm sure his family needs all the support they can get .

I'll be having a few in Justins name .

harbinger was my favorite pulpit poster....he was a really good guy, and i am missing him already.... i keep hoping he will post on here and say "guys its ok im alright"....RIP buddy, ill pray for you and your family.

damn, so it's been confirmed? i was hoping for hoax. as cruel as that would have been, it would be better than the reality.

i enjoyed his posts, he was always a blast especially around the pulpit. he'll be missed. coincidentally, i have been listening to bolt thrower's latest album 'honour, valour, pride' quite a bit recently. it's a tribute to those that make the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom. i'll be cranking it for harbinger tonight.

my sincerest condolences to his family, his unit, his friends.

you'll be missed justin. thank you for doing what you did.
