Since you have a celica GT-S, have you run into that problem where the bolt inside the engine rips off and the engine will not hit VVTI?

nah not yet..but i bought it at 57k so it may have happened b4. i have 80k and its strong as ever...from what i hear i should probably check the lift bolts at some point

I got 13.7@101 on real street tires(non-drag radials)
I would say low 13's high 12's is possible, but that would be the best.
Chris got 12's with drag radials, that's likely the fastest for sure.
What is the fastest n/a celica running without slicks?

prolly low 14s..i think all the 13 second na celicas had DRs..maybe like 13.9

we dont have an aftermarket like u guys..lol

That's pretty good. Haven't heard much about big power gainers for them n/a, but I guess they weigh less by150-200 lbs or something.

Yeah, there you go. Man are they light!
Can you imagine if our type-s weighed 2500 lbs stock?
It would be a mid-14's car stock, 13's with cai,rh.
It's funny, in my area, none race, ever. They are the show cars.
I tried to race one at street races before track opened, didn't want any part of it. He raced my buddy in his intake/exhaust gsr and lost anyways.

i didnt intend to start a gt-s vs type S thread here, but stock for stock the gt-s(besides the ones with 7800rpm rev limiters 02s and 05s) is just as fast as an 02-04 type S...its a drivers race u guys just have better aftermarket. type S midrange is better but that doesnt affect top end acceleration
another problem with the gt-s is that its harder to drive because u have to shift right at the limiter to keep it in lift

yup definitely a drivers race. i believe the rsx-s is a 15.1 stock and celica a 15.2....also the celica responds better to mods...the rsx-s just has a wider selection for the aftermarket support..

pretty much..celica might respond better to i/e, but a header makes u lose power and there are no cams available so basically we have intake exhaust and apexi power fc and thats about it for worthwhile mods
