Well the results are in...if you didn't get your issue yet and like to be surprised, don't read any further.
0-60 is 6.8 with a 15.1 @ 94.6 quarter. Curb weight, which R/T weighs with full tank, was 2880 lbs. Interesting to note that R/T does not weather-correct and they tested on an 82 degree day...
One of the editors said, "This car makes me not hate front wheel drive.."
Skidpad was .85g, kinda disappointing considering this was on the optional Exaltos. Brakes were touchy on initial application. And the seats, which look to be heavily bolstered, were of only "good" lateral support.
Still looks like a sweet piece.
Mileage was a horrific 19.7 overall, and this did NOT iclude any test-track work.
Sticker was 22,300 which included nav, XM, and the summer tires (only 200 bucks!)
^If you are correct I would laugh my ass off. Before EP3 was introduced it was also hyped up to extremes just like the 06 SI. If this Si is a all talk no walk, that would be hilarious.
I don't like how they look.... hopefully they at least handle well! I'll smoke them anyways... now, but I do like the interior... the interior is a little copy of an s2000 but has some originality to it.
Just a note, R/T's test car only had about 700 miles on it according to the pictures in the article, so in another 5000-1000 miles that time should be somewhere around 14.8-14.9 @ 95-96.
Trap times are very driver dependent, particularly on a n/a 4cyl. If you want to see some hideous trap times, look at the review of the RSX base in the current issue of Consumer Reports. Something like a 17-second quarter and >9 seconds to reach 60. I could do better than that in my 110-hp '87 Accord.
i think they are blowing the civic si all out of proportion. if this car is going to be as insane as they claim, its going to kill the rsx~s market..
supposibly they are going to cont the rsx, others say they arent. others say a two door tsx is going to take the place.. so many stories no one to believe..
i think HONDA is confused ! i think a honda rep needs to make a appearance and address this confusion
yea the new road&tack mag the si max speed is 130mph , apparently gears 1 through 5 are the same ratios as the type-S but then the sixth gear is shorter for acceleration :
type-S civic si
3.27 3.27
2.13 2.13
1.52 1.52
1.15 1.15
0.92 0.92 0.740.66
final final
4.77 4.77
so inconclusion the si tops out in fifth gear @130mph and doesnt uses sixth gear so the type s will always b faster

my point is the si will top out quicker then the type-S its not about racing in 6th gear its about top end and thats not what the si has its only meant for acceleration...not top end
its a cool car, I like my rsx-s though, i feel like its alittle more "raw" than the new civic. All in all I am done beeing bitter about the car, its another good sport compact on the market, it will be a fun car for alot of people.

yup, i think most of us are just bitter about the navi and LSD. LSD woud deffinately be awesome but navi really isnt needed. It would just be nice for the "bling" factor. Whenever i get in my car i know exactly where im going.
